I know some of you will feel there isn't much point in nominating a poty or ypoty etc ...but it's just a bit of fun.
Player of the Year? - Billy McKay (Despite him being a dissapointment he still did score 13 goals in an utter shite team. Not too bad a return.Though he should have scored many more with the chances he had)
Young Player of the Year? - Blair Spittal (Again he's not everyone's cup of tea but i still quite like him and think there is a player there somewhere)
Most Improved Player? = Simon Murray (Have never doubted his work ethic and effort but i thought he was a bit limited (to put it mildly) ability wise when i first seen him play at the start of the season.I don't think that now. He's really starting to show some real promise)
Worst Player of the Season? - Gavin Gunning (No explanation required)
Favourite win? 2-1 v Hearts (Brilliant last minute winner in a game we had to win.Left that day thinking we had an outside chance of surviving...alas)
Most painful Defeat? 2-1 v Dundee at Dens 2/5/16 (No explanation required)
One word to sum up the 15/16 season? - Painful

Would give Spittal player of the year too, apart from that can't really argue.
Honourable mention to Rodney for worst player category tho.

Agree with you both. Best win I will go Ross County in the Cup, as that was just a great Dundee United day out, as opposed to watching Dundee Disjointed on and off the park.
The New Year Derby was THE ONE where I thought, "we're not gonna pull out of this" as they were in free fall coming backwards towards us until that point and winning that would have had quite an effect.
Clusterfuck is the word I'd use to describe events of the last year, with recruitment being the reason.

POTY - I'd actually give this to Simon Murray. Which pretty much sums up how poor our season has been as he hasn't featured consistently. He's done well when he's had the chance and maybe his enthusiasm might have rubbed off on others had he played more. I'm hopeful of a good season from him in the Championship.
YPOTY - Blair Spittal. One of the few players who showed any quality, although it was in brief patches. Not convinced he'll end up as a midfielder due to his lack of pace. It may be worth giving him a few games at full back next season to see how he gets on. A few cracking goals from him also this season.
Most Improved - Simon Murray. Done very well considering he's stepped up a few divisions. Hoping for more improvement for next season. We'll certainly need him on top form.
Worst Player - A Sneijder/Gunning tie for me. The former due to the high hopes we had for him and the latter for not giving a flying feck. Thon OG he scored at Tannadice was brutal. Dillon, Riski, and Durnan all competed well for the accolade!
Favourite win? 1-0 vs Saints away. For once we battled away and dug in well to hold on. And my wee lad finally got to see us win I. Perth!
Most painful Defeat? 0-3 vs Motherwell. A must win game and we never kicked a ball. Doon without even a whimper!
One word to sum up the 15/16 season? - Disasterous! 😫🔫

POTY: Paul Paton. Its no coincidence that our form took something of an unsurge when he came back from injury. Unfortunately, he's never going to win games single handed but he certainly never hid, unlike many of our players.
YPOTY: Blair Spittal: Scored some great goals and looked really good at right wing back both defensively and offensively at times. I'd play him at right back next season.
Most Improved: Simon Murray. He looked utterly out of his depth in the Dunfermline game early in the season when he was brought on wide. Contrast that with the last half hour on Saturday. Night and day.
Worst Player: Szromnik. Amazed he's not been mentioned already. Not even an amateur keeper. Absolute shite and probably cost us a dozen points on his own.
Favourite Win: St Johnstone away. Showed real character to dig out a win. Came out with real belief that we were going to stay up. The support that day was the best I've seen for years, everyone shouted themselves horse. My wee lad definitely 'got it' that day about what supporting Utd is all about.
Most Painful Defeat: The Hamilton game a few weeks ago was the worst Utd performance I have EVER seen. Closely followed by ICT and Motherwell games. BUT, the most painful game was Hamilton at home in November. We should've won about 7-0 by half-time. But we contrived through Mixu, Szromnik, Durnan and Gunning to lose the game. I said on Facebook after it that it was the lowest I'd felt after a football match, even worse than the St Johnstone final and was shouted down by people. I still stand by that. It was the game we were relegated. The confidence was destroyed in both players and fans as the realisation hit about our frailties were exposed.
One word to sum up the season: shambolic

Controversial to the end, that's me.
Player of the Year? - Murraymints Well he would've been if he'd been got enough game time/starts.
Young Player of the Year? - Aidan Connolly Well he mighta been if he'd been kept.
Most Improved Player? - Scott Fraser Bit rough when he came back from Airdrie, but he's improved.
Worst Player of the Season? - Gavin Gunning T0sspot.

Player of the Year - Paul Paton agree with you lifesanocean, he never hid and we did have a brief upturn in form with him in the team. I'm hoping he is one we can maybe hang onto. He captained Thistle to the Championship a few years ago too!
Young - Blair Spittal, boy has ability of that there is no doubt, I'd also like to mention Matty Smith here as over the two games he has played he looks a special wee player too!!
Most Improved - Simon Murray again in the last month he looks a real good goal scorer after I said he would be lucky to score more than 10 in a season, puss well shut!!
Worst Player - Darko Bodul, well I think he is no quite sure as I have only seen him for 40mins. I agree Gunning is a complete bellend and there are others you can add to the list like Rodney the plonker, however Darko has managed to be paid his wages for zero return. More fool us!
Favourite Win - Ross County away in the cup, wasn't there but looked amazing!
Most Painful - 3-0 Motherwell on the Tuesday night, just when we thought there was a glimmer we were well and truly pumped.
One word to sum up the 15/16 Season? - Disgraceful

Player of the Year - Paul Paton.
Young - Blair Spittal.
Most Improved - Simon Murray. Top three are for the exact same reasons as Mass Debates just said in his post!
Worst Player - Michal Szromnik. A young Lance Key.
Favourite Win - Dundee United 5 - 1 Kilmarnock. Completely unexpected. Was a glimmer to what the team was like before, and could have been again. Bittersweet.
Most Painful - Dundee United 2- 2 Dundee. 2 nill up and comfortable, keeper saved 2 good shots to stop us going 3-1 up, then the killer last minute flub. Thats the moment the team cracked for me.
One word to sum up the 15/16 Season? - Deflation.
