Announcement tomorrow of new album and tour apparently.
Awaits predictable slew of sarky comments

They can keep their tour, looking forward to the album though.

Would be excited about a new album.
And as someone who's never seen them live I would like the chance to rectify that too.

I saw them at Heaton Park in 2012 and at Glasgow Green in 2013. They were great both times. If it is just a tour and no new album being announced I won't be bothering. Surely to christ it'll be some new music being announced as well though? They've been back together since 2011 after all.

My favourite band of all time, their début album genuinely changed my life . I didn't go to see them when they got back together a few years back though. I wanted to remember them as young men in their prime.

I saw them in 1995 at the Barrowlands. Still listen occasionally to their first album. It's still a cracker. That era with them and the Mondays is what got me into music.
Can't say in too bothered about a new album and a tour though tbh

Couple of gigs. No album
Headlining T in the Park. I'd rather eat a plate of my own shite tbh

Piss poor. Not going. Good for those who haven't seen them but not interested with no new music. Playing it safe is disappointing.

Ringing more money out of 1 very good album.

Ian Brown said today that they are recording and it should be out before summer gigs. I live in hope it'll be decent.

I'm pretty intrigued about what it'll sound like to say the least.
21 years has passed since their last album.
Will it be a bit of a departure i wonder? Seems on Twitter a lot of people almost want it to be shite so thay can say 'told ye so'.
Personally i hope they bring out something brilliant.British music needs saving.

Outstanding comment Sir. My feelings exactly.

Well said Tek. The band that got me into music, can't wait to hear the new stuff.

Rip roaring rock n roll track with backwards guitars reminiscent of some of the b sides of yesteryear---so I'm hearing.

Great stuff.

Thought it was pish sadly.

I liked it. Lyrics a bit repetitive but still decent I thought. Sounds very Squire influenced, hoping for more bass and funk from the other new stuff.

Thought it was just a decent throw away pop song, they are never going to break any new ground now, they are middle aged men now after-all, I'm sure if they have written an albums worth of material there will be much better than this on it though.

Yeah, I've got mixed feelings about it too. Its a bit like a Seahorses track musically with Ian Brown singing on it. However, it is actually quite catchy. Its just not THEM though. Mani and Reni are just pushed right into the background as well which is a pity although the type of song that it is (catchy summer throwaway pop song) doesn't lend itself to heavy drums and bass. Hopefully the rest of the album isn't like that though.
What pissed me off a lot more than the track itself, was the fact you can only get it off of I-Tunes. If you use Android stuff like I do you are stuffed. I refuse to buy any Apple products because you become a slave to them and I also refuse to pay for a music subscription service like Spotify (I'll buy music when I want, how I want). Its not on Google Play or Amazon Music, or the Sony Music store or Windows Store either which is piss poor. I eventually discovered you can download an MP3 of it off of the Stone Roses website today, which was not publicised at all.

Yeah, spot on with the Seahorses comment. Squire was given free reign basically with Second Coming (which I do love) I just hope it's more of a group album this time around. Couldn't imagine Ian Brown coming out with lyrics like that too often. Be interesting to see the credits on it.

Should have saved the 99p and bought something good. Thon track is a bigger letdown than their last 'comeback'. Ian Brown should have done a Ritchie Manic in early 1990 so we could remember them for thon first album only

I actually like the 2nd album. It was never going to be as good as the 1St but, imo, it's still good. However that new track is just pish.

Spotify is great if it's included in yer mobile phone contract. Even better if the shop manager gets you on his friends and family discount
