Utd v Partick - Tuesday 10th May 2016 (7.45pm)

So here we are the final home game of the most painful season in living memory and though it's a 'meaningless' affair it would be nice to at least see us score a few goals again, win and maybe blood 1 or 2 youngsters during the course of the match.

We haven't scored against Partick Thistle in our 3 previous games this season (all defeats) which kinda sums up how we arrived at relegation to the Championship.

I'd pick the same team/formation as Friday night but i'd drop Kawashima and give Zwick a game. And i'd bring Donaldson in for the suspended Morris. So I'd go...

.........................Zwick............
Knoyle...Donaldson..Durnan...Dixon
..........Fraser.....Dillon....Rankin..
.........Ofere.....McKay....Murray..

Subs - Kawashima,Souttar,Spittal,Robson,Johnson,B Smith,M Smith

Gordon Young comes across really well in the press conference. I would keep him on. He says a couple more youngsters will be in the squad. Would guess Brad Smith and Harry Souttar.

Too much commotion

Have heard a few negatives about GY from when he was at Motherwell. Does come across well though, think a clean slate is required

He's a bit forthright with the youngsters shall we say. My bosses laddie was in the youth team at murderwell

I'll say no more than agree with EKarab's comment re Gordon Young.

Regarding the match, I cannae get anyone to go with me (by that I mean drive me there ).

Shed57 bus isn't running, and nobody from my area has an interest in going. Might still go, but should I make the effort involved, when some of the staff seem to have avoided using their energies this season.

And United still can't be arsed acknowledging any contact I've made with them via email.

Tropical weather out there today

Hope our players don't think they're on a beach already

The fans at the very least deserve two strong performances tonight and Saturday to close the door on this season and give us all a slight bit of optimism looking ahead.

Incidentally can't believe the club haven't reduced patg prices for tonight.

Should have let everyone in free and offered season ticket holders a free pie/hot dog/cola or programme.

A wee gesture as way of an apology for this season.

£20 to go and watch in effect a meaningless game.

Be lucky if there's 5,000 there.

Great game, great to see the young boys actually make a difference, especially jj, matty smith and souttar (much better defender than his bro)

Good comeback tonight. Partly due to the atmosphere not being too poisonous when we were 3-1 down less abuse from the I'm no going because we are shite fans. it gave the young lads a chance to show what they can do, both Matt Smith and JJ showed a willingness to get to the byline with a bit of drive and skill, agree with Mario that Harry looks much more like a defender than his brother

Just hame, young lads performances filled me with slight hope for the future! Totally agree the stands were mare joking at our plight rather than getting upset about it.

Love how we had a winger and a really good looking attacking left midfielder on tonight which is what we've been crying out for 🤔

Double D's at the back did the job again - couple of tits Dillon and Dickers take a bow!! Dillon's attempted clearance which he kicked the ball into his own puss for the second was spectacular.

Thank fuck season 15/16 is done. I'll no be buying the end of season DVD

Been crying oot for abit oh pace in the team and look what happens the night f***ing scary that a guy that gets paid couldn't see that! Agree Harry looked a better defender that his bro no as good on the ball but I'll tak that! Also massive improvement in Fraser looks a much better player in the middle even got booked must of slipped! Telling you now get a hard tackling grafter in there we him next season he'll be great! Was RM in the stands??

Re: Utd v Partick - Tuesday 10th May 2016 (7.45pm)

Out late last night on the p1ss. Game of 2 halves really.

1st half was poor. Our passing esp. was wayward. Thistle were only in our box 2 or 3 times and scored twice. We were in their box umpteen times and couldna score. Remember the kerfuffle in the Thistle box between Ofere and Murray, when they both had a clear chance, on the 6 yard line to put it in the back. Neither did, and Thistle cleared.

2nd half much better. Couldna work out who scored our 1st, till the guys round me said it was an OG. Chuffed for Ofere with a nice touch for our 2nd, after a nice pass from Fraser.

Don't have the same opinion about Fraser as others do. Yeah he's a no bad player, quite skilful, but he has the habit of doing clever turns to keep possession, but then runs into trouble by keeping the ball too long, no passing, then losing the ball when he tries to be a wee bit too clever, when faces 2 or more opposition players, where he doesna get away with his fancy turns. A wee bit tippy-tappy for me. However, think he provided the assist for Ofere's goal.

Thought that Matt Smith was excellent. Possibly MOTM for me. Brad his namesake was no bad tae. Had my doubts about Johnson, but great piece of individual play leads to a good goal. At 3-1 down, thought we were getting phuck-all, so the point is welcome.

Great to see Rankin getting standing ovation at the end.
