Re: players getting binned

Good the best thing Thompson done in the last 18 months! Get the rid of all the fucking deadwood, keep the ones who have the potential to have sell on value! Players like rankin, Dillon ect are so passionate about the club but have absolute no ability what so ever so thanks and bye.

I know it's not popular to like anything ST does but I love this move.

These players are fucking shite. Get them away to fuck.

He hired the managers who signed the shite, he sacked the managers who played the shite and now he's getting rid, like 90% of our fans would do too if given the opportunity.

Don't get me wrong, I want ST out and a change of ownership, chairmanship and stewardship ASAP but far too often players get off with being shite while the manager and owners carry the can.

I think (most of) the players are shite BTW.

Totally agree.  The best and most positive ST thing has done for months and months.

Re: players getting binned

Club statemenr on players

Following the Club’s relegation from the Ladbrokes Premiership Chairman Stephen Thompson met with the entire first team squad today, taking the first steps towards next season and life in the Ladbrokes Championship.
The under noted out of contract players will not be offered new contracts. Edward Ofere, Callum Morris, Guy Demel, Ryan Dow, John Rankin, Euan Spark, Joe McGovern and Florent Sinama Pongolle will leave the Club at the end of the season.
Stephen Thompson said, “I have had to explain the harsh realities of relegation to the squad. I spoke to them about cost cutting measures. It was not a pleasant thing to have to do, but it was better to do it face to face with them. John Rankin was there in his SPFA capacity and was very good about things. He was a great help.”

Re: players getting binned

Weird how there's no mention of Kawashima.

Surely he'll no want to stay in Scotland to play in the Championship for £400 a week?

Re: players getting binned

£400 quid a week is more than most of the players deserve

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: players getting binned

Being honest here, I'm delighted that all the players who are out of contract are getting punted, there either injury prone or are basically shite! We need fresh players who are up for the challenge

Re: players getting binned

Heard Dillon and kawashima are set to stay

Re: players getting binned

Probably fairer to be honest and upfront now rather than after remaining games.

Of course it'll be impossible to say if anyone who stays (who were free to go) took a pay cut....

This is appeasement, and it should really have been held over at least until after a week on Saturday, in my view.

It won't save any cash between now and then, and it seems ST is maybe attempting it now to try to get the fans onside. And who is it that is making these football decisions? It must be the board, who have not been reliable in many other areas recently.

I'd have held back until the new 'head coach' had been secured, or a DoF.

Certainly, a clear out is required, and I may agree mostly with the list of those potentially leaving, but I don't really trust the judgement of the board at present.

This ^^^^ 100%.
