Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Morris sent off. Fanny.

Inverness miss sitter from resulting free kick.

Donaldson on for Durnan.

Coote on for Murray.

2-3.

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Would anyone mind if I was to stomp on Chris Sutton's pus one or two hundred times?

Obviously wouldn't, but how many would rush to stop me after his commentary?

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Full time. 2-3.

Annoying as fuck.

Murray was good, some other players were average, some were okay, Dixon and McKay touched the ball four times between them.

Did Dickers get as much as four touches?

He did take that free kick off of Fraser then struck it with less power than my seven year old daughter could.

No exaggeration was used in the above statement.

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

The score is irrelevant why did more youngsters not get a game, why were there only 6subs, why did young not make a defensive change when Morris got sent off, why is Young still there he should have walked when Mixu was punted, why was Oferre on the bench for 7 straight games, why did Mixu tell Murray he was not good enough. There is a lot of unanswered questions this year

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Not quite sure why Gordon Young is getting abuse.I think he comes across really well in interviews and the players apparently like him.Does someone know something about him i don't ?

Anyway well done to him.Got the formation and team selection correct tonight.Throwing in too many youngsters could have been detrimental to their development tbh.

Maybe start 1 or 2 at Tannadice on Wednesday though.(Robson and Zwick for definite).

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Team selection right for what TEK?  To win tonight?  Winning tonight was the least important thing we should have aimed for.

I don't get why playing three dead rubbers could be detrimental to young players development.

Only first team football will advance their development, what happens if they play the first three games in July/August and we lose them all?  Do we drop them, buy more players, sign experienced players on loan before the window shuts?

These three games were an ideal opportunity to see if our young kids could cut it against teams who still need and want wins, which is what they'll face every week next season.

After ST told the majority of the first team squad their services were no longer required he should have done the same wjth Young and told Bowman to play the kids for these last three games.

We play 6 or 7 Dev players we go up there and lose 4 or 5 nil mate IMO.What good does that do them?

Most of them aren't ready for 1st team football.Truth is they've had a poor season in their own league.

Zwick,Coote,Robson and maybe Johnson should all feature on Wednesday either from the start or the bench though.I agree on that.

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

The worst team in the Premiership just won up there, while carrying Dixon, McKay, Rankin and Durnan tonight, swapping those four MINIMUM for dev players couldn't have made us any worse.

My point is that how will we know if they are ready or good enough if we don't play them, pre-season?

How will dev players get first team experience if we don't play then when there is nothing at stake?

Even if we got beat 5-0 with a team of devs tonight, which I don't think we would, they would learn much more from that than sitting on their arses.

We'll need to agree to disagree on this yin Andy boy.

Throwing in youngsters just for the sake of it doesn't necessarily help them.

I see what your saying about how will we know if they're good enough? But the fact is a lot of these boys have struggled a bit at times in the Development league this season.

One last point on Young btw.Maybe he wants to make a play for the job?Or a play to at least keep his job as a coach?

In that situation he is absolutely correct to play the strongest team he thinks are best equipped to get the win/s.

After all he isn't going to be around to bear witness to these players coming of age in a Utd shirt if he gets sacked. So what would it matter to him if they played tonight and we got the run around. He done the right thing imo.

Ease one or two in at Tannadice though on Wednesday.Certainly Zwick and Robson are no brainers for me (at least).

Happy to agree to disagree mate.

It was never "for the sake of it" though, it's much more important than that.

Re: ICT v Utd - Friday 6th May (7.45pm)

Sitting on a bus to Inversnecky and back is not gaining 1st team experience in my book....just pissing young players off in my book....they have watched the same shite this season we have and must be questioning how bad they must be to not get a game in front of FRaser, McKay, ......well Fraser really, he's keeck

Young is there as an employee of United, getting paid for his 'trouble'. If he wants to make a play for a job (which I'd argue by his poor qualities so far he shouldn't still have), he should do that:

a) by using players which would be at his disposal next season,

or

b) by impressing his employers with his actions in coaching the players (which he failed at during his six or so months at the club).

As a disclaimer, and nothing to do with any of the above, I'll say that I don't like the cut of his jib.

You might be right but with the all round feeling so fkn low it might have been the wrong time to play the young players.

I might be wrong as a win might have done them proud but another disaster on top of the last too many might have had them feeling involved in the nightmare.

Agree Tek seen a load of people slating the kid, think he's just taking Souttars place as the scapegoat. ok so he doesn't always look as if he's interested but u can see he is by far and away the best footballer we have at the club, always looking to do something never just head down and lumps it, hopefully he hits the gym hard during break and I think we will have a real star ( game of opinions though )

Agree with Mr Phobia.

You try and distance the kids from 'bad feeling' and blood them when things are a bit more positive and the team is playing well.

Make the transition as seemless as possible for them.
