Jim spence

Rumoured to have been asked to work for utd on a consultantcy basis  to improve communication between club and fans.

We already have a communications manager and arabtrust have a committee member who sits on the tannadice board isnt he supposed to communicate between boardroom and fans aswel?

Re: Jim spence

He's good at shit stirring on Twitter, if that's the level of communication the club want he'll be a great appointment.

Re: Jim spence

For some of the posters on here who will not accept anything coming out of the club as a good idea (except STs resignation) Im sure it will get the usual volley of negative comments. However for the majority of the support who avoid the I telt you that would happen forums this, if true would be a positive move. Jim is well respected around the country and would be an excellent mouthpiece for the club  IMO

Re: Jim spence

Don't think I have, looks like another negative post suggesting that the club are getting it wrong again. However apologies for trying to see a positive side to the story.

Thats all he would be though. A puppet for Thompson to hide behind.

Re: Jim spence

The club has people in place that should be doing this thats the point im making. Do we need more? Will people make way from positions to put Jim Spence in place?

I think what Bowers is saying is that the club already have a communications officer at the club but are now wanting to spunk more money away by getting someone else to do this at an additional cost, all at the same time as slashing the players wages and making others redundant.

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Twice recently he's had the opportunity of speaking to the fed recently and never bothered after saying he would.

Re: Jim spence

Was one of the major gripes not that there was no communication coming out of the club?
Would that not mean the communication person at the club wasn't communicating enough for the people who were moaning about the lack of it ?
And you still want to keep the communication manager who wasn't communicating 🤔

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Re: Jim spence

Isn't it ironic that Spence gets slated for coming away with smart arsed comments, sarcasm, half truths, guesswork, and I know something but I can't tell you what story's?

Wonder if he posts on here?

Re: Jim spence

Silver you might like this one then

Spency may have more lofty ambitions than just freelance communications man at Tannadice

Re: Jim spence

Spence would be off his trolley to get himself involved as a go between. He'd be run oot o Birkie within a week.

Re: Jim spence

Kinda saw this one coming.

We'll see how it works out.

One thing though.Needs to stop the trolling on Twitter if he's a club employee.Certain level of professionalism has to be acknowledged as a representitive of DUFC.

But I'm sure he knows that.

Re: Jim spence

Probably a good appointment for that position.
This would have been better welcomed in better times.

He'll have to be off to a good start in his role and not seen as just a spin doctor for ST and the board's lack of progress.

Good luck Jim.

Silver, that's perhaps the funniest thing you've ever come out with (not that it's had much competition)

Re: Jim spence

I've not got any issue with this. People might not like him - and there's no doubt his social media output has been a bit odd since he left the BBC - but he's a smart cookie, he knows what's going on and can play the role he's been brought in to do better than anyone currently at the club.

Time will tell if it's a good move by the club, but on the face of it, I think it's a positive step to mending some of the obvious hostility between fans and club.

Re: Jim spence

Jim's appointment will go down well with "the fan in the street" but as Silver says only time will tell.

If ST is serious then all well and good.....If not I,'ll predict Jim will walk and another massive Minter for the club.

Might go ok as even ST must realise he can't afford to fuck up any more.
