OK HH if you adopt as many positions as you do, then at some stage you are gonna be right. When we had 51/52 players it was too many for you; and now we are doing what needs to be done, you're not happy with that either???!!! Right now - and don't get me wrong, this is all of his own doing so I'm not defending him - he has to be the bad guy.

He has to be the guy who makes the cuts, who punts players, makes the innocent victims (i.e. the non-footballing staff) redundant, tries to get out of the St. Andrews deal etc.

In a rational world, why would anyone want to be the bad guy instead of him? It is - as you've said on here before - a case of future investors probably waiting on things bottoming out.

But I think that by perhaps letting it be known how shit things are going to get, he's trying to encourage a white knight to step in and save him from being that bad guy.

And that will depend on how rational any potential investors are.

Cos let's be honest, if you're going to throw money down the drain investing in a football club, you're not that rational.

I 100% agree with this.  Said the same on Mad. Who would be daft enough to come in and start doing all the dirty work?? No one.  This is going down to the day before Admin, last minute save now.
 

 
Hopefully it is the day before admin and not the day after.  Long road ahead I think.

Whilst not on the same scale remember us being shite under Brewster but he did a lot of dirty work which enabled Levein to take us forward. Wishful thinking but hopefully this is about to happen again.

Our total wage bill to June 2015 was £3.6m and if the players only accounted for half of that then a) I'm astonished
                               b) our other salaries are wildly out of control.

The latter could be the case (bonuses?) but the 1.8 still looks very low to me.

1.8 is quite high.  For the 52 players that's an average of about 700 each. Obviously youth team players will be lower and 1St team higher.  Positive St johnstone and motherwell wages for playing staff are about 1.1 million

7692 ÷ a squad of 16 = an average wage of £480 per week. That's not going to work.

If it is high or indeed bang on then there does seem to be plenty of scope to cut elsewhere.

Sorry if I sound like a shit saying that and I'm very, very conscious that people will be losing their jobs in what are difficult enough times.

It is though what it is and unfortunately poor decisions have led us to this point.

If nobody wants to listen then thats fine and upto them.
But the more people who are willing to stand up and fight to remove st and southern the better.
I for one am not sitting back with my arms folded saying i told anyone so.

Serious question HH and not trolling. 

What action is being taken to challenge Thompson and The Board regarding the dire financial state reported by yourself and bowers?

 

For several of months a number of fans have expressed caution and concern about the way the finances have been operated by the board, quite rightly worried that cash would run short at some point. 

Relegation has brought this into focus. Is Thompson perhaps moving to a totally frugal position now, and will he claim that this is what some of the support have been calling for?

The point I'm suggesting: what level of belt tightening and savings would be acceptable to those who are more aware of the financial situation than me? And what sort of model should we be following in the near future to extricate ourselves from this difficult monetary position. 

Complicated issues: I'm glad I don't have to make these decisions.
