Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

Saying on Twitter to me and another TT member that he has been informed that the wages we are offering next season will be BOTTOM end of the Championship type wages AT BEST.

Something tells me we could be in for more pain yet.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

Dumbarton, Livingston, Ayr United etc?

Aren't they all part time?

I hope we pay wages on a par with Falkirk, Raith and Dunfermline and more than Hamilton, St Mirren, Morton, QotS, cut our cloth accordingly.

A reasonable basic wage with big bonuses for promotion.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

But, how would he know this? As you may realise, I don't take anything journalists, especially Scottish sports journalists, say seriously.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

Just thought TEK, maybe that's what be offered those who he didn't want to stay?  Force their hand kinda thing, and that's what the journalist is referring to.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

I asked him how he knew this and he replied 'Without giving too much away it has come from somebody within the club - unless a new buyer or investment can be found'.

@Pat He's one of the more decent Scottish sports journos and tends to only deal in fact as opposed to hearsay tbf to him.

I don't think so mate because his comment was in response to a reply about the standard of player we can bring in to replace the punted players.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

The Chairman is trying to cut the wage bill from £1.8 million to £400k. If that doesnt make people sit up and take notice of the shit we are in, then nothing will. We are so fuked here lads.

See this "it came from someone within the club" bit, I'm fucking sick of this shit coming out of Tannadice, when will the folk in our club learn to shut their puss and stop with the gossiping to try and look big.

It's happened for far too long, too many times.  Either release the info properly or shut up and do your job.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

The level of wages will be based around selling 1100 season tickets. One of my main reasons for buying the early bird  season ticket was to try and give the club a competitive budget. If the story is true the non buyers will be chuffed that ST has been put in his place.

OK HH if you adopt as many positions as you do, then at some stage you are gonna be right.  When we had 51/52 players it was too many for you; and now we are doing what needs to be done, you're not happy with that either???!!!  We all get it loud and clear, you hate the Chairman and want him out and without the hate aspect, I'd agree his position is probably borderline untenable.  I'm NOT renewing my season ticket next season because of Thompson's decision making and lack of communication.  But where are the Tangerine Knights over the horizon to buy the Club if you want all those players we are not renewing to get new contracts with us?

So I'll be the first to call you out with a £100 bet that Dundee United will not be relegated from the Championship next season with our 7-a-side team and no Head Coach.  What do you say deal or no deal?

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

For what it's worth, it wouldn't surprise me if this is ST and his crew playing a game of chicken with potential investors.

Buy me out and take over the running of the ship or I'm going to steer it on to the rocks.

If I was one of the interested parties, I don't think I'd be able to sit back any longer.

Re: Journalist Scott Burns of the Daily Express

We should get a benefactor, who is not ST, has pots of money and does whatever a select group of fans want.

Blue Peter badge to whoever finds him/her first.

Presumably bottom end of full time wages - that would put us on par with Raith who have the lowest wage bill of the full time clubs in that division.

So cheer up all.....the play offs will still be within reach

Wow.What are all these positions I adopt.  What is it I'm not happy with?? Which players do I want to get there contract renewed?? I wouldn't give a single one of them a new contract.  Ram your bet. Why are you screenshotting my name off Twitter and putting it on here??

With the amount of Blue Peter badges we'd need for the IS (Inner Sanctum) in our support, we could probably make the British Steel industry profitable again!
