I'm gutted its not worked out for Mixu but, other than getting us fitter he's been a disaster. His signings were crap and other than the goalkeeper, failed to address any of our problems. The stubbornness with tactics not working (largely as a result of failing to address our lack of width), the dropping of players for weeks for no apparent reason (Erskine, Durnan, Donaldson, Morris) and then suddenly restoring them to the team when clearly not fit for big games was all baffling. The lack of changes during the games and the failure to respond to opponents altering their tactics cost us loads of points hence why we kept losing games from winning positions (Dundee, Motherwell and Partick away and Hamilton at home being cases in point). I don't mind that he gives some of them absolute bollockings in the dressing room. Players need that, especially these pussies that play for us, but if you are going to be that type of manager you need to get tactics and preparation spot on yourself otherwise people will just look at you and think, "Why are you shouting at me for being pish when you are pish as well??" Mixu clearly didn't have the respect of the players in that sense in the way that Levein did, who by all accounts was fierce in the dressing room.
Maybe with a summer he could get his own players in and address things tactically, but we cannot afford to take that chance if he makes an arse of it after making the same mistake last summer.
He's got to go.
LaO - I'm sure ST printed that off and laid it in front of Mixu as the case for the prosecution.
A case there is no defence against sadly. Mixu had to go.

Also heard another thing that, there's a player who wants the job!
Can only be Dillon or Rankin.
Rankin is an infectious, enthuastic wee guy and i think would make a good Coach for someone as part of a Coaching team. But that would have to start as just that...a coach.
Dillon for me,no sorry i don't see it at all.His interviews send me to sleep.I don't see how he could ever truly inspire anyone. And he's just too fucking 'nice' tbh to ever succeed in top level management.
They both are tbh.
Rankin might at least be able to be the 'Good Cop' to somebody's 'Bad Cop' however.Maybe.
Sorry Tek but if you think nice doesn't work I have two words for you - Claudio Ranieri
Having said that wouldn't be keen on either Dillon or Rankin due to lack of experience - assistants maybe

Claudio is the exception not the rule.
Plus despite the 'nice guy' persona (and he does seem a genuinely nice gentleman) I don't doubt for a minute there's not a bit of fire there deep down that he still summons to the fore when necessary.
Some Managers don't even need to scream and shout. Just a look will do.
It's hard to explain.

Personally I think it doesn't need to be as black and white as 'nice' guy or not. I think it is having the team behind the manager no matter what personality traits he has.
If you work for a manager who is fair, good at their job and will always have you and the rest of the teams back, then you would bust a gut for them and do as best a job as possible. If not maybe that profession, or even just work in general, isn't for you.
You have to be more dynamic as a manager now, you have to know and understand what gets people motivated and how to get the best from them in any walk of life. Having a blanket facade of being hard nosed with everyone will not cut it, same as being too nice or too easy on some people. I believe there are ways to achieve that without being an asshole, as long as they understand that sometimes you have to make decisions that won't make everyone happy, thats what managers have to do in any workplace.
The 'look' that Tek mentioned is something that I can understand, but can also work by giving a look of disappointment instead of anger to someone, and if you respect, care or have a good relationship with that person then sometimes disappointing them is even more harder to take than making them angry at you, and that should give you enough motivation to work harder or make amends.
I don't know what goes on behind closed doors at Tannadice but I think anyone can see the team isn't playing for Mixu. Is it because he is too hard on the players or too soft, I don't know. Another good thing for any success in any team or workplace is to try and surround yourself with good people to work off and bounce off. Things seem too negative with Mixu, Bowman and ST all coming out saying the players are soft, gutless, feckless and whatever. That can go two ways, the players respond as a fuck you to them or they can regress back in their shells and not give a fuck, what have we seen from them lately?
Whoever the manager is success might not be down to being too nice or too hard, sometimes its all down to the timing. Ray McKinnon might seem a good choice as he has down well with his last two appointments, who is to say he can make a hat-trick of successes.
This is all just a personal opinion of mine and something that I have have learnt through being a manager myself for the last 6 years managing 13 other guys at a fire station. It shouldn't matter if it is managing someone on a football team or managing a few people to do a paper round or even managing the kids at home, we are all 'managers' in one sense of the word, and I am still constantly learning all the time on how to be a good one.
