On the back of us being relegated and that we are now going to have to start cutting our cloth. Surely this guy has to be sent packing. My understanding is that he was brought in to oversee the day to day running of the club whilst ST and MM were looking to buy the Newcastle Jets and that he would then take over ST's role once the purchase went through with ST overseeing what Southern was doing. Obviously the Jets deal fell through and despite the fact that ST is back at Tannadice in a 'full time' capacity Southern has managed to hold onto his significantly well paid job. I've been fed up hearing ST rant on about operating losses whilst a significant amount of cash has been paid to both ST and Southern to do the equivalent of one job between them. Are there any other cushy jobs at Tannadice occupied by people not pulling their weight that could go in order to save the jobs of the hard workers that actually make the club tick?

Well if a new owner does comes in, Southern will be away.

Hope so.
Will it be as easy as that? Or will this be an upfront pay off that we/any potential new owner can't afford?

Agree 100% Bowers. And I think he will be regardless, even if ST stays on, which I don't think he will.

Its actually really sickening that Thompson got away with hiring him and both took full salaries forca job share.
They both need to leave ASAP

Isn't southern a member of staff rather than a contractor thus simple employment law would dictate what he would be due in the event that there was no longer a requirement for his position?

His position wasnt required in the first place never mind now. His position isnt justified.

Still a lads livelihood we are talking about taking away. It's not his fault he was hired. So needs to be dealt with correctly, if it comes to it.
I still don't think it would take too much if they go with the redundancy route though.

The lively hood of alot of proper staff at tannadice is on the line aswell who actually do a good job for the club and have done for many a year.
Im not one to be happy to see anyone loose a job but in this case he has to go.
