Reports of possible takeover

As above, in the Tullie it would seem, possible takeover or substantial investment - anyone heard anything?

Going by some posts on here and mad, the boys in the know will know mate. Hopefully they'll share their info with us mere mortals.

Re: Reports of possible takeover

Fingers crossed this is the start of something positive and we can get the motor out of rapid reverse and into at least first gear to move forward again!!

Re: Reports of possible takeover

"Stephen Thompson is ready to call time on his family’s reign at Dundee United – but only once he knows potential new owners can take the club forward."

cheeky bastard considering we've gone rapidly backward for most of his stewardship

Re: Reports of possible takeover

What he really means is he won't sell until the price is right and CGAF who is buying!

Re: Reports of possible takeover

Taking the club forwards will be a doddle considering its the only direction we can go now.

Too much commotion

Re: Reports of possible takeover

I'll take all this with a big pinch of salt for the time being.Particulary as there are no quotes attributed to Thompson or any interested buyer.

I tend to take everything written in the Dundee press with a degree of scepticism tbh as imo Thompson is so pally with them that he drip feeds them we tidbits of info to put on their back pages when the heats on him.

Sporting Lisbon friendly
Safe-Standing at Tannadice
Shahktar Donetsk tie-up

^^^^^
All the above have been reported in light of Thompson getting a hard time

And since the protests at the weekend we've had

Mixu could be heading for the exit door
And
ST could possibly sell-up.Though only if the price is right and he trusts the buyer/s to 'take us forward' (and eh..it might actually be an investment and not a buy-over'

Hopefully it does indeed come to fruition but he is good at using deflection tactics to buy himself time is all i'm saying.

Re: Reports of possible takeover

You make a good point and even if there is something in the pipeline, it will take months to close any deal

Re: Reports of possible takeover

A dee in my work who told me about the Justine/ST fight at Hampden that sparked her departure actually telt me last Wednesday that the owner of 'Norman Jamieson' and thon boy Deuchars that owns/part owns GA Engineering were putting something together to tempt ST to sell.

Claimed to have been telt it fae someone he knew at Tannadice so either he guessed this rumour in good timing or maybe he was indeed on to something. Might speak to him the morn and see if he's got anything else to spit out or if he's just a shite spewer who got lucky.

Re: Reports of possible takeover

Interesting, but agree with TEK, massive pinch of salt until I see something attributed to any party involved.

Deuchars has been quoted many times saying he does not want to own United or deal worth the shite that goes with being Chairman, he's been very supportive of and defensive of critisism of  Thompson in the past so can't see him being interested, although people can change their mind.

Agree with all that, Spin I think they call it (or bullshit), but I do believe there is at least 1 interested party, whether it matches the names mentioned, I don't know.
