Bought the DVD box set on sale a few years ago, now just started watching it again, loved the show when I was growing up (aired 1989-1993 for 5 seasons, first 2 seasons were in 1989), so thought I would watch it again to see if it would still holds up today.
As soon as I heard the intro again I was hooked. Yes the effects are pretty shoddy by todays standards but that is to be expected. It is still so cheesy and saccharine at times but that is the beauty of it, very opposite to shows of today which you have to have swearing violence and tits and ass to get ratings, signs of the times but I still enjoy the hell out of it, its the ultimate sweet popcorn show where you can just zone out and embrace the show for what it is.
Only negative thing to say was for a show that was so upbeat and positive, it finished on the most bittersweet ending ever, the final episode was a game changer but was meant to be a cliffhanger between seasons that never got resolved due to cancellation. Repeats are still shown on the SYFY channel on SKY every morning at 7am, well worth a look just for nostalgia alone

Cheers, Sieb, I'm tempted to get the box set and watch them all back though!

Definitely recommend that Slateford, I haven't watched the whole series back since it first aired on its original run and it's amazing how much I still remember about it.
Just about to finish series 2, some cracking episodes so far with some amazing ones coming up such as The Leap Home, MIA, the evil leaper story and the Lee Harvey Oswald ones.
The creator Donald P. Bellisario actually met Lee Harvey Oswald when they were both in the US Marine Corps together. He recalled the first time they met, Oswald was in the mess reading the communist paper Pravda. Bellisario flipped out because it was the height of McCarthyism and they went nose to nose shouting at each other, eventually a fellow marine came over to separate them and as he led Bellisario away the marine said "don't worry about Lee, he is harmless!".
