according to The Courier.
It's a start I suppose.
Should have cut his wage drastically when Southern was appointed - better late than never I suppose

Another sign that ST is planning on staying around. One less stick for the Thompson haters to use against him.

Didn't have a problem with him taking a wage when he was here full time and didn't employ a general manager, however 100K was far too high for any SPFL team ti be paying out to a chairman.
Still a long, long way to go if he's trying to win back favour amongst supporters.

He's offering to fuck things up for free.

Did this come out at a faddy meeting then?

Make no mistake he will not be losing out in this.

Expenses will jump from 39K to 139K
He is still a cunt and can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned

And Southern?

£99,999.99
We should just pay him in Cafe Nero vouchers really.

On the surface it looks like a wonderful gesture.
Sadly he's lost so much (or ALL) trust within the support that everything he does is rightly or wrongly viewed with a degree of scepticism.
The cynic in me would say that he is trying to protect his investment. If the club is flirting with Admin then his investment i'e' Dundee Utd suddenly becomes worthless.
Or perhaps he is trying to deflect blame from himself and any protests onto Mixu should the worst happen on Sunday and we lose again.
Or maybe he is just leading from the front (for once)....who knows? As I say it's very hard not to view everything he does without some degree of cynicism these days.
If he is to stick around as Chairman he has too above all else do two things.
1)Start communicating regulary with the support again
And just as important (or maybe even more important for me)
2)Be POSITIVE.
Christ I get the local newspaper here and the guy who runs EKFC (local amateur side) is far more positive about his clubs future and paints a sunnier outlook about where they are going and what he hopes to achieve for the club. And they have about 100 fans.
Any more interviews where Thompson talks of 'Hard decisions will have to be made', 'budget cuts',or 'the grave financial consequences of relegation' will be met with just yet more derision from an already pissd-off support.
It's time he came up with some positives and solutions rather than constant negatives and problems. It's painful to listen too.I am sick of the negativity surrounding Tannadice. It's infiltrated the entire club and support.
One last point.Pehaps Justine was asked to forego a wage also and that was her reason for resigning?I really don't know, that's a question not a statement.

Justine was taking a 30k salary from Utd. For doing what I have no idea.

Agree with most of that TEK. Thompson needs to be positive about the future. We all know that relegation is not good for the finances of the club. When the inevitable is confirmed lets here the plans for a promotion push, nothing else is required.
Offline
Beharder, there will be no plan for a promotion push. The will be scrambling around trying to get money so the Club can survive. We are fuked. But at least we have 1 less thing to hate ST about, right?

Heggy Our playing budget next year will be on a par with our competitors, Falkirk, Dunfermilne, Kilmarnock ect. What we need is a new manager to get the recruitment right and there is then every chance of being in the promotion battle. To suggest we are fuked is a bit dramatic.

You believe what you want mate, I am 100% not being dramatic. Don't underestimate the shit we are in.

Thats the problem HH people dont seem to understand how serious of a situation we are in thats been the case for well over a year now

Bowers, they will understand very, very soon, sadly. Pointless saying anymore tbh.
Saying "we are fuked" and no more is being dramatic whether it's true or not. It's literally a headline.
Can you share what you mean by "fuked". Are you talking years in the championship? Admin? Liquidation? Different folk could use the term "fuked" to describe all those scenarios.
I have no inside knowledge so have to go on what is reported by the club itself or the local papers.

We are financially fuked. With no one any clue of how to sort it.
I'm none the wiser.
