Sad news that former Utd defender Ian Britton has passed away aged only 61.
Only made 14 appearances for United but does of course have a Premier Division league winners medal as all those appearances came in the historic 82/83 season. Not many players have one of those to leave to their loved one's.
Sad week for the club, what with him and Derek Robertson.
RIP Ian.
Remember him from the early part of that season - a better than decent player who played his part in our greatest ever league campaign.
Sad news.

Class player, with a back combed mullet that became almost an afro on his homecoming.
RIP

Mind he scored an important goal against the Hibees that Season. He was a m8 of my older cousin who moved to Preston in the 70s. Strangely enough, when Ian ended up moving to Lancashire, they bumped into one another and kept in touch.

This has been a fucked up year for people dying. Grim.

Shocked at this, given his era, and age, plus was going to use him next on the 'United connections pictures' topic.
Scored a big, big goal for Burnley in 1987 to keep them in the league system.
Cancer is a right bastard.
