Technically they're not.

Ireland beat Germany 1-0 in October past (and in a real game).

You'll need to beat them if you want the 'Unofficial World Champs' title.

Technically it's Uraguay that are the unofficial World Champions, based on straight knockout.

Even more technically, Scotland have been unofficial World Champions more than any other Nation.

Didn't know the game was on but caught it just as Kane scores England's first goal.

England very impressive in half an hour I seen, hopefully they'll fuck it up by making sure Sturridge, Rooney, Hart, Milner etc all play instead of the much better younger players that played tonight.

England will definitely do well in this tournament,i think.

I fancy France to rise to the ocassion and win it on home soil as they did in WC 98' though.

They have a good up and coming team.

Never seen last nights match btw.But the hype over the scoreline instantly reminded me of when England beat Germany 1-5 away in Munich in a 2001 WC Qualifier.

The English media went apeshit and were boldy predicting only Brazil could stop England winning the tournament the following Summer.

Well Brazil did indeed win it.They beat Germany in The Final.

Yer front 4 possibilities Chainmail are probably as good as any team that will play in the Euros.

But yer back 5 are a car crash waiting to happen and will get torn apart by the other top teams, which means you need to score one more than everyone you play against.

I did laugh as I was typing that Chanter, but we all traipsed religiously along to Tannadice to watch our team play exactly like that. It cost us a Scottish Cup Final that still rankles me. I like attacking futba as much as everyone else, but first and foremost you need to know how to defend. We've been unable to defend for several seasons now. If England get lucky in that respect, they could have a chance but I just canna see that happening.
