Re: Question time from Dundee

Had to turn it off after 10 minutes.

Not a Dundonian in the audience (infact was there even a Scot?) and It was clearly John Swinney V's The Rest (bar Pat Harvie). The fella could hardly get a chance to speak without being interrupted.

Re: Question time from Dundee

Certainly not representative of the general public in the city. Watched the whole thing wondering if audience members would try to call the panel to order, but this is the BBC (for which we are forced by law to pay, both via taxation and the BBC licence fee).

Regarding the panel, it seemed fair to give each member party a position, but bringing in a Daily Telegraph journalist was the hardly characteristic of the Dundee or indeed Scottish voting public. This meant the Tories had two voices on the panel, 33% of the make up.

The panel apparently do not know the questions prior to the programme, but that didn't really matter when the audience and queries were stage managed. In any public discussion programme, as it progresses it is more likely to go 'off plan', as it did later on when a few Scottish and Dundee voices were heard.

However, anyone with a gram of intelligence would know we are being conned by the output from the media, a huge annoyance to me, who believes that election rigging is not uncommon in this democratic state of ours.

Re: Question time from Dundee

I watched about 30 mins of it and couldn't believe a) the lack of ordinary Dundonians and b) the lack of SNP supporters in the audience as well.  A total stitch-up.  Although I voted Yes, I'm no fan of the SNP but even I thought the audience had just been put in there to round on John Swinney.  Shocking.

Btw, I missed the last part of it.  Did the young lad from Harris get to ask his question?

If it's the same laddie mate, he made a joke about paying off the whatever trillion debt we have by getting a pound for every time the Tory Govt blamed Labour.

Re: Question time from Dundee

Just watched it there. The question that puzzles me was put forward basically asking Swinney how is it better for us to get out of the U.K. But stay in the eu  still don't know the answer

Re: Question time from Dundee

It's coz ALL POLITICIANS are artful Dodgers and pocket lining bassas.  As the point was made elsewhere on the Prog, we as Voters are taken for absolute fools and should be given a Vote A and X, Y and Z will be delivered; or Vote Z and A, B and C will be delivered.  Instead we have this Punch and Judy show that costs us a fortune and delivers the square root of fuck all with no-one held to account.
