Kawashima OUT!!

Of the Cup match v County at the very least.

Huge blow, particulary as WeeDude was saying that neither of out other Goalies is 100% fit ether.

Demel is also out tomorrow with his hamstring.

Re: Kawashima OUT!!

I actually like Zwick and think there's a keeper there for sure.

It's just the part about him not being fully fit that's concerning me tbh.

Re: Kawashima OUT!!

Hearing Gunning is also out of tomorrow.

That's three 6 footers out.I hope this means we don't go all to fuck again defending set-pieces as a consequence.

Would take a draw tomorrow and try and take them at Tannadice tbh.

Re: Kawashima OUT!!

Tbh if we had to have a game where the squad was depleted with multiple injuries....

Also I guess this sort of thing (or suspensions) could well happen further down the line so it's an opportunity to see how, if say Gunning was out, plan B was working.

Re: Kawashima OUT!!

Hearing now that Gunning is infact fit and in tomorrow's squad.

Good news.

Glad it's not just me wha thinks this. Actually think Zwick could turn out to be no bad, was put in a terrible position by JMac and Hinchcliffe and his confidence was torn to shreds as a results. Very few keepers jump from u21's to first time without going out on loan first. Even elite goalies normally have spent a bit of time out on loan, or in the case of some continental clubs on loan to their 'B' team in the lower leagues.

The lack of an experienced keeper was a major factor in our terrible form this season. No coincidence this slight upturn in fortunes recently and clean sheets is due to Kawashima being back to full match fitness and forming a link with his defenders.

Bang-on Morphy.

It wasn't just Zwick and Szromnik who were hung-out to dry though.

Durnan and Donaldson were too imo by having a rookie Keeper behind them. The whole situation was shambolic.

I'm hoping the run of games they've all played well ensure a calmer performance tomorrow than games early in the season when the 3 of them played at the back together.

Re: Kawashima OUT!!

Sure Zwick will get good encouragement from the travelling fans. It's hopefully a one off for him and unlikely whatever he does will dislodge Kawashima so less pressure maybe than before.
Feel a lot more nervous without Kawashima
though.
