Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

billy we were brutal tonight , sheep did boss midfield with a robson whos put on 2 stone and canny run (doesnt say much for our midfield tonight) mixu takes the blame for that as his subbies  were wrong in anier and erskine should have been ofere and dowser

Absolutely disgrace from mixu, ie subs! I would love to hear how he can justify, the personnel and timing of the subs! Absolutely fucking baffling, no happy at all

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

I'd start playing the young laddie Robson at left wing back. Paul Dixon was fucking abysmal again tonight. We should've been 4-0 down at half time and yet could have got a draw in the end.  The keeper signalled he was struggling and was kept on causing us to put ourselves under pressure every goal kick. Why was he kept on????

Is there something wrong with Dow preventing him from playing 2 games a week??? Serious question btw.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Shocker tonight lads some real head scratchers. Where has Murray gone? Why is Dow behind Anier and Erskine? When did Donaldson decide he was Pele? Where did we put the real Dixon? When is Scott Fraser gonna get that fucking quiff cut aff?

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

That was horrendous all over the park.

Not for the 1st time far too defensive.

Mixu really doesn't have a clue what's going on.  His subbies were ridiculous, sending 3 boys out for fully 20mins to warm up, then putting on Erskine without as much as a 2m jog.  I'm honestly convinced he forgot they were there (and I mean at the game) until he turned round with 5 to go and seen Ofere and thought hey he's tall lets try him up front.

The only positive is that was our hardest game left and its out of the road.

Honestly tho, we need points from at least 7 of our last 10 games, winning at least 6 of them, there's not a hope in hell that'd gonna happen with anything near tonight's level of performance or management.

Dixon was liked a lost bairn.

Regarding the keeper, if he's struggling why can full backs not be told to go short and take the ball, and then they can just punt it if that's what he wants to do, but no fucken throw it out wide to the half way line was the instruction, wow, really!  That put us under real pressure every time.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

I couldn't believe, it took him so long to put ofere on, also why take McKay off yeah he was shite but how no just take a defender off? Why on earth did erskine come on ahead of Dow especially to be put on the wing? How on earth did Fraser last the 90 min, boys a absolute shitebag? Dixon is pathetic and has been since he's came back, either move spittal to left and play knoyle or play Robson or rankin? Spittals delivery from crosses, corners are embarrassing, he really could be a good player but really needs to work on that part of his game!

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

It's not the end of the world for us, but very disappointed with Mixu's decisions tonight.

Re Dixon, injuries appear to have taken a huge toll on the guy, he needs taken out of the firing line. Surprising that Dow never got a look in while a player who's definitely leaving got game time. In fact, Erskine didn't really look fit. Goalie seemed to get injured taking the first goal kick, and that put pressure on the whole team when he had the ball. Ofere would have provided an option, if we had to keep Kawashima on the park. But did we have to?

A bit puzzled by the whole evening, but plenty points to play for.

Just when the night could not get any worse, the A90 closed going North and a diversion that doubled the journey time.  I agree with all your comments.  I'm baffled.  Your last sentence sums it up beautifully Pat.  #20Points

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Utter garbage performance last night, it was the Motherwell game all over again.  I don't get it - get a great win on Saturday away from home against a good team, you'd think they'd come flying out the traps, but nobody looked interested.  I've no idea why Mixu didn't try to change things a bit earlier and as mentioned if the keeper was injured, get him off the fucking pitch for fuck sake.

Can't answer you there Slateford.  Just like I can't answer that GG could not take on board and remember that he was on goal kick duty.  If you've not got the savvy to take that on board, what hope game awareness etc?  Can anyone answer (as I'm at the GF side of the ETL); but did Erskine ever warm up other than at half tine?

Certainly never during 2nd half, think he was out once 1st half.

He along with FSP and McKay shouldn't be near our 1st team again TBH.

Read a lot of folk saying the CHs played well, Donaldson did tbf, but in the 1st half the other 2 were absolutely all over the place.

Disagree, I thought all three done not bad, they look all over the place as Dixon and spittal couldn't contain there fullbacks, especially Dixon! I personally thought we looked quite comfortable, except maybe that wee spell in the first half! Mixu Cost us the points tonight with horrendous line up and subs!

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

As already said, A Few baffling decisions from our manager last night.

1. Starting with Pongolle. Not with hindsight either. Said in car on way to game. He offered NOTHING.

2.  Although he done ok ish when he came on, bringing Anier on at halftime, before Dow or Ofere. Bizarre.

3. Bringing Erskine on before the above 2 players. Crazy.

4. Waiting until the 87th minute to bring our last sub on. Pish.

5. Dow not getting a look in after the Ross Co game. Baffling.

6. Keeping Scott 'the hair' Fraser on the full 90? Good ane.

Best players for me were Gunning and Donaldson. Worst were Pongolle(should've been off within 15 minutes) Dixon, Mckay, and Fraser.

Seek o Mixu's pish decisions.

That from Mixu last night was worse than anything from McNamaras tactics.  So far from being amateur never mind premier league level management. Scary.

SM - ^^^ I never said anything of the sort above ^^^ - it was a bloke with a bandage on his ankle who then ran away wot said that!

Not that we play with full backs as such, but you make a great point about their two.  Both Logan and Shinnie are quite wee, but they win headers,  they work up and down the pitch, they are super quick recovering, they bite into tackles and they are everything we are not!

I'm still not believing that we allowed their holding two to again strangle the midfield.  99% of Sheep fans would have neither of Jack and Robson in their Starting XI.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Not much went right last night, I agree with most off the comments about the subbies. The biggest problem for me was that Paton never got close to Robson all night. Paton normally sits deep to compensate for his lack of pace but he was up against Robson who is equally as slow. Robson had all the time in the world to look up and pick his passes totally unhindered by Mr Paton.
If Aberdeen win the league they will be the worst ever Scottish Champions.

A great analysis though I cannot agree with your generosity in persisting with Pongolle for up to 15 minutes. He was 'ponging!'

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Going by Mixu's after match comments, I think he viewed last night's game as low priority, certainly in relation to the Cup on Saturday.

Not sure I agree. I think a "stronger" team could have taken all 3 points last night.

Kawashima (who I would've taken off, btw)

Spittal Donaldson Gunning Durnan Rankin (I think we've played our best recently with JR on the left)

Dow Paton Fraser

Ofere Mackay

In hindsight, would've maybe played Anier or Murray instead of Mackay as he was pish

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

I asked Joe re Kawashima not being subbied, Zwick wasn't 100%, Szromnik ill and the others not ready to play 1st team yet.

So basically its shitty luck.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

TBH taking Kawashima off and bringing Zwick on wouldn't have been ideal either.

It's how we asked Kawa to distribute the ball while he couldn't kick which was utterly bizarre-  the just throw it up and we'll try and win it back tactic.

So we're going into Saturday's Cup match without an able-bodied Goalie ?

Great stuff.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Re the goalie issue: this is why I couldn't understand Ofere not being involved until very late on: he'd have at the least pulled a central defender wide when we were distributing from our box, maybe winning the ball, maybe giving more space to McKay.

As it was the tactic when the ball was in the keeper's hands was to throw it to Dixon.
