Big plus for us is that Rooney won't play for them.

His goal scoring record against us must be up there with Kris Boyd's.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

A lot of butterflies about this game, even although it's only Monday. I've always thought we'd get out of the situation, but had a major wobble after the Motherwell match, and still worry about the defenders.

That said, hat off to the defenders in the last couple of games, and a special credit to Durnan, directly involved in two of Saturday's goals, plus part of the group which created space for Paton at the first rehearsed corner. Cannae believe the change in his performances.

It is massive mate, but imo even a point is not a disaster. Killie are now the one's in free fall it seems. Sheep are definitely there for the taking tonight without their 2 best players tho. Hayes is one of the best in the league.

I fancy us to sneak it.

Agreed. Ecstatic to win, but still positive if we got nothing.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

FSP in for Ofere who's on the bench tonight.Surprised at that change tbh.

Anier has made the bench ahead of Simon Murray who's bombed out altogether.Still no sign at all of Robbie Muirhead (weird).

Team in full is....

Kawashima

Donaldson
Gunning
Durnan

Spittal
Paton
Fraser
Rankin
Dixon

Mackay
Sinama-Pongolle

Subs - Zwick,Dow,Dillon,Anier,Erskine,Ofere,Knoyle

Think we are due a penalty.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Don't understand the inclusion of FSP.

Hopefully I'm wrong and Mixu turns out to be a tactical genius but I think recently we've been at our most threatening when Dow has been on the pitch.

Hope built up by better results and sheep injuries is dropping back a fair bit.
Due something lucky and a result against them. Shooting downhill now and hoping we bring on Ofere and get a penalty or some jammy luck. Mibbies had the luck with the 2 disallowed goals already.
Cmon United!

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

It's never anything other than disappointing when United lose, but overall, I'm not massively downhearted after that.

We've just played 2nd, 3rd and 4th and come out of it with 6 points. With a bit of luck, it should probably have been seven. Now they're all out of the way. We don't play Celtic, Aberdeen or Hearts again this season.

I said on here months ago that we'd need to be 9 points behind at most by mid March to have a chance. After a great few weeks I believe we're on course to dig ourselves out of it.

Re: Utd v Aberdeen - Wednesday 2nd March (7.45pm)

Just wasnae gonna happen was it. Didna think it was a great game.

We did put up a fight, but were simply outplayed by Aberdeen esp. in midfield. They were faster than us. 1st half the passing was poor, probably losing half the passes we made. Half the throw-ins we took in the 1st half, an Aberdeen player got the ba. Fraser in his continuing one man band lost the ball a number of times instead of passing.

We played too many balls into open spaces we none oe our players near. When the pass was played more precusely forward, because oe Aberdeen's height advantage, McKay struggled. Wasnae surprised to see Pongo get hooked at half-time, coz TBH he didna get much time on the ball.

Anier thru himsell about a bit, and had a couple of attempts. There was a brilliant move by Donaldson in the 2nd half, that Anier was involved in that just didna come off. Shoulda made changes earlier.

Some questions on many folks minds the night. Where the fuck are Murraymints and Muirhaed? Why was Dowser no on.
