I like The Verve and some of Ashcroft's solo stuff,but that new tracks not for me i'm afraid.Pretty bland imo.
He's looking terrible in that pic btw.Unhealthily skinny.Hope there's nothing sinister behind it.

Nick McCabe really was the man who made the Verve special, particularly musically. That song is decent enough though. There is only one 'This is how it feels though'.

Big fan of Ashcroft.. his last solo efforts were a bit pish. But i've got a feeling this one will be up there. You on my mind in my sleep and brave new world .... just above anything thats been claimed to have been written really!!.. seriously, just fucking tunes.

Totally agree with that - McCabe was a pivotal part of the Verve and what gave them their edge, his guitar work is fantastic.

I downloaded Ashcroft's album and its decent enough. Very poppy compared to Nick McCabe and Simon Jones's band 'Black Submarine' that's for sure. Just heard this tonight and think that it is quality. Dark as fuck. Think "A Storm in Heaven" with a lassie singing. What a voice btw.
