Rankin at today's presser

Saying some have downed tools and aren't giving 100%.

Then WTF as a senior player hasn't he went fucking through them?

Re: Rankin at today's presser

Gutted myself mate. Unfortunately, all we have left to play are players who have no vested interest in us staying up (or don't care) There are a few who will, but not enough.

Maybe he has?

Re: Rankin at today's presser

He said that it's his responsibility to do so.

He said that fans were giving the team 100% (which isn't accurate but he can't slag the fans) but not all the team are giving the fans 100% in return.

John 'Chairman of the PFA' Rankin?

Doubt it somehow.

Good pro but too nice a guy to deliver the home truths that are needed imo.

The other problem is that it's mostly other senior pros who are the one's not giving their all (Mckay, Gunning, Dixon, etc).I doubt he'd say anything to any of these guys.

Re: Rankin at today's presser

I will say one thing though. Nobody else would speak with the passion he did. He cares.

If everyone had his commitment we'd be in a much better place.

One other point I think Thompson's statement has lit a rocket under some arses.Probably far too late but tomorrow will be very interesting to see the line-up and response.

Re: Rankin at today's presser

What players do you think he was referring to when he talked of 'heads going down too easily and downing tools'?

I reckon Gunning, Mckay,Dixon and worst of all as he's Captain... Sean Dillon.

Anymore?

Not just speaking, no other player tried harder to win the game.

Reckon ST's statement was more self interest than motivational?

Agree with that Bugsy, any motivation it provides is more of a by-product than the intention.

Demel the other night, going back s wee bit Erakine, Dow, Bodul, McGowan. It's been the case for months.

Also have a feeling he doesn't just mean games and there's a lack of effort in training from some.  This may explain the Muirhead (who I like) scenario for one, maybe Anier too.

Oh i agree.

But judging by the press conference today it might just have evoked some kind of soul-searching from a few.

We'll see later today i guess.Ultimately it's too little,too late.

You could be right about Muirhead. His total lack of any action has to point at something, because he definitely has some kind of ability about him, albeit he's raw.
