Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

I will always support my team, my sons team, my dads team, my grandfathers team, my great grandfathers team.

If I can help it, the man running our club won't see another penny of my family's money.

The only way to stop the slide into oblivion is to starve the man of cash, that's all he is there for.

Can you point out where I said I'll still be going?

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

Stay in and hear Mrs Tek making lists of things that 'need done' or (when i can) go to the game?

Hmmm toughie.

Course i'll still go.

Not while that man robs us blind.

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

He won't fuck off whether you go or not.
I'm not on his side and get yer feelings but that's probably a fact mate.

He seems to be influenced by online and general fans opinions but not going won't make him change unless everyone did the same and they won't.

Your prerogative.

Suppose if you stick to that statement, you have to be admired for sticking to your guns. Dinna get this "I'm no getting a season ticket but I'll still go" thing.

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

Phobia, if he is starved of cash he will want out, if it keeps coming in, then he keeps making money.

No brainier.

Future of our Club is at stake here.

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

If he gets season ticket money, he gets a big lump to keep the club and his lifestyle in business over the Summer.

This is a huge thing for him.

If season ticket sales are shite, he will be in trouble.

No one to pay the bills.

I might not get a ST as this season  it would have cost me far less not to, tbf I've had to miss a lot of games, but the deals on offer are all to the benefit on non ST holders.

The club should have been punting out deals to make getting a ST really worth it, but instead u get a leaflet full of all the extras you'll get, most of which never seem to happen.

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

I get the logic behind it, but at the end of the day, he's still getting yer dough. Up front or on a weekly basis, he's still getting yer dough.

If you feel that strongly about him getting his mitts on your money, you wouldn't go at all.

I appreciate that mate, but that's a different argument. If it doesn't pay you to get one, then it would be stupid to get one.

By starving him of season ticket money though you put him under severe pressure to seek investment or sell the club. The club needs that money to live off.
See the money that's came in via the pay monthly a year in advance scheme. Do folk think that money's still sitting in the bank or do you think that's already spent? Be interesting to know.

Get that bud. Just think the support too split to get the numbers needed to create the starved revenue needed to fuck him off.

Edit to say the season ticket sales will probably be the lowest for years for a good while as most arabs will feel comfortable making that statement. But near the seasons start but most supporters initial protest will cave in.
Doubt home support will increase like last time we went down but recon enough will go to tick over with a new budget.

The money's in, unless it's been put aside in a separate account then it'll be in the books for the time it came in.

Would be very, very surprised if it's in a seperate account

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

No season ticket for me while Thompson and family are still here.

I'll pick and choose my games.

So say I'm sick of it all is putting it mildly.

If the management don't care why should I?

I also get that. Suppose the point I'm trying to make is. . . . . Your hatred for one man is that strong that he'd stop you doing something that's been in your life forever? A wee bit of cutting your nose off there imo, because as already said, 2 or 3, or even 20 or 30 people not going next season won't even register with him.

I get that there's anger, and quite rightly so, but where does it end? If he's still in charge in 3 years, do you still not go? Shame it's got to this point.

Here's hoping that getting relegated will mean he drops his ludicrous price and we can get someone new in.

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

Going to be hundreds not getting a season ticket not just a handfull, there will be 6 around me not renewing for a start!

I may even choose to only attend away games if Thompson is still here, that is how strongly I feel about him and the damage he has done to my club.

Posters who don't share my view that is your perogative.

I concur with this. I won't be renewing my season ticket. I personally know 4-6 others who are unlikely to renew. We are a group who in the main go to Tanny together, have a pint beforehand and enjoy the banter. That's a huge part of it. Two others didn't renew after the disaster of last season and are sorely missed. Mr Thompson is now affecting everyone of us. Some were making excuses for him, giving him the benefit of the doubt, now we are all very much doubting the benefit!

We all come from the south Fife area and we too are thinking of selecting away games only, along with going to watch other non-United games. Amongst us all there is over 250 years of supporting United.Undoubtedly we will pop into Tanny for some of the bigger games, but I suspect we will adapt to watching non-United games rather well.

The Middle Eastern Sanitary Technician is far from alone with his prognosis!

Re: If we're relegated and ST is still in charge

Thompson out!!!!!! - but who in?

Yeah we all have major gripes with the chairman for choosing business decisions over football decisions - but is there a white knight sitting on his horse on sandeman street ready to ride in and save the day?

I propose we stick the following ad in the Tully

'WANTED: MULTI MILLIONAIRE UNITED FAN

Must want to spent millions of pounds to purchase a club and work tirelessly for no return. It is preferred that the candidate will move joe rice into their home so daily updates can be given to fans and he will also be thick skinned enough that supporters groups chairmen can abuse him day and night

To be honest - I don't see many folk lined up for it. It's all very well saying thompson out but without an alternative, what's the point. Our support is so divided that any actions or attempts to get fan purchasing is impossible. How long have arabtrust been going and how.much of a percent have they got? The amount of folk on here who slag of arabtrust mean it's never a viable option.

We can't even organise a decent protest!!! - don't go in for the first 15 minutes - there's a boy beside me who doesn't stumble out the pub until then - maybe he's been inadvertently protesting for years! As it will happen - some will not turn up for the first 15, some will leave in 83, some will sing songs at thompson and the net result being a damp squib of a protest.

Looking at the whole situation again - he got incredible money for robertson,  gauld and even ciftci. The 2 decisions I feel let down by are the sales of colin n Justin where Gms went for pennies and Armstrong could have been sold at the seasons end for the same.money and the decision to give mcnamara another signing window.

Looking back, we made some big moves prior to the gruesome twosome sale - so we could have expected they were going . In the summer, he gave mcnamara the tools (money) to sort things out, only for mcnamara to spunk it up a wall on abject shite.

He's not a football manager remember - he hires a manager to judge what we need and how good potential targets are...If the manager says darko fucking bodul is good enough, his job is to get him to the club...

Remember I'm pissed off with this too - but I can't see any viable suggestions being given.....

On a last note - any drop in season ticket numbers will result in a smaller wage budget in the championship - if you want to harm our chances of getting out of it - then with holding season ticket money is the way to go about it - 5 season jolly are us.

In my opinion, we need to draw a line under this whole sorry episode with the chairman and get back to being united
