The 12th game of Round 1 was a long drawn out, convoluted affair. The top 2 tracks both finished on the same score but as the track 'Absolute Beginners' was the first to reach 4 votes,it's it that shall progress through to the 2nd Round.Eliminated from the tournament at this stage are the 3 tracks 'I Can't Give Everything Away', the brilliant 'Lazarus' and the unlucky 'Wild Is The Wind'.

Queen Bitch, please, a great guitar riff stolen from that early punk Eddie Cochran.

I've stewed on this one all-day.I really like all 4 tracks (again) for different reasons.
'Kooks' is a lovely and poignant tribute to Bowie's newborn Son Zowie Bowie. And has stood the test of time in it's quirkiness.
'Cat People' is a cool, sexy track and sounds ever so slightly like Talking Heads surprisingly.Working with the legendary Georgio Moroder it couldn't really go wrong could it?It sounded great and really added to the scene i posted in 'Inglorious Basterds'.
'Let's Dance' on first lisen sounds like an 80's white collar worker office party' kinda track, but peeling back the layers of the onion it's much more than that. The Teddy Boy style harmony segways nicely into a funky, modern (for the time) pop track.Nile Rodgers and Stevie Ray Vaughn on guitars.Weird combo but it very much works.Bowie's vocal is great too.A great pop record to dance to.
My vote goes too 'Queen Bitch' though. As i said in the Ashes To Ashes thread this was him in his absolute pomp. And of all the different styles of Bowie throughout the years this was my favourite variation of his persona.A great 70's glam number.Wunderbar.
