The Politician in Maryhill took some beating.Went in there once for a drink with the missus years ago when we stayed there and there were cunts sitting in the back bar blasting out their own techno tunes on a ghetto blaster/cd player and drinking their own carry-out.They also were pretty open (and loud) about the fact they were doing coke in the bogs (in and out every two minutes).
Rough as fuck pub which eventually got shut down due constant fights and drug use.
Suffice to say we never stayed long and drank-up pretty swiftly.
Edit to say the laughable thing about this pub being such a den of inequity was that it was literally a Stone's throw from a huge cop shop (the one Taggart was filmed in).

The Windsor Bar in Dundee takes some beating. My grandad took me in the because it was a £1 a pint. £1 too much.

The Oak across from parkhead is a particular kind of shithole, I quite liked it tho, livened it up walking in with a Utd strip fully on show.
All the pubs in Glenrothes are dreadful.
Douglas arms in Methil, Fife arms in Kirkcaldy, loads of others from going back after ammie games aswell.
There was 1 in Edinburgh after a SC game that was ridiculously bad, no idea what it was called right enough, but broken glass on the doors, broken windows, a couple of hundred locals growling at 40 strangers for a few hours, but actually a great day out in the end, even when 1 of the locals tried to steal the bus.

I was at the fire when the Douglas Arms was gutted a few years ago. Shady goings on there. Allegedly

It's not really a secret is it? Right dive, fire probably improved it.

I wonder if Methilhill Strollers still use it as their post match pub, that was the first time I went in there. I was on the bench for Pitlessie v the Strollers ready to make my debut but game got abandoned 5 mins into the second half as their goalkeeper ran out to the half way line to kung fu kick one of our players, which obviously incited a full on rammy, the ref just said fuck it and called off the game. When cooler heads prevailed we all went back to the Arms for a pint.

Pretty sure they still go there, can't beat a bit of handbags at an ammie game.
Thinking real dives now, valley bar in valleyfield, the craigie bar in ballingry, or to really top the list the white swan in Kennoway and the goth in Lochore, not many worse places than those.

From all the towns and cities visiting with United, I'd say Paisley always had the worst. Worse than in Glasgow by a distance.
Fkn dives like the Wig and Pen, Alamo, Cottage Arms, with the worst the Sheep's Head (now derelict).
Online!
Surprised you said the Alamo,Pat. Been in there before a Utd game once or twice and honestly didn't it was that bad.
Christ I've been in far worse bars than that in Glasgow and surrounding areas.

I used to work in Paisley and there were some horror pubs there, like Moe's tavern without the humour.
For the worst pub I've ever been to, would have to be one in Auckland near the viaduct. Theme pub with hanging baskets instead of seats, about 5000 lampshades hanging from the ceiling so you've got a migraine the moment you get in the door, and the one and only time I went in they were sold out of beer, and I had to sit in a hanging basket, drinking a coke while watching sailing on the big screen TV, feeling like a total minter waiting for the mrs.

Haha I live in Torryburn which is about 5 minutes from Valleyfield (although Torryburn is alot nicer place) but only been in to the Valley Bar once after an amateur game and honestly one of the worst pubs I have ever set foot in. Some of the bars we go back to after Fife amateur games are complete and utter dives.
How did you end up in the Valley Bar??

Possibly based on my last experience in the Alamo, I think before a cup tie in 2008 when it was packed out, seem to mind a lot of bother around that area.

I'd love to come up with a great excuse and some "hangover" type scenario for why I was there ( because really u should need one ), but it was only after games. TBF tho, while its a shithole, like a lot of the pubs I mentioned, I don't mind places like that, once u start having a laugh with the locals it's normally good fun.

Yeah I have to agree with you but dont think I was in there long enough to start having a laugh with the locals!! I sometimes have to go to the shop just up the road from it (in times of emergencies) so see all the glorious sites standing smoking outside it during the day!!
Might suggest to the missus we go there for a Valentines drink
