Hearts taking the piss

100k bid for Souttar knocked back.

We would get more than that (probably 3 times that) for his development fee even if he leaves in the Summer.

Levein must know that too.Dissapointing tbh.

Trying to unsettle him?

Edit - Sorry just noticed Scarpia's post from earlier.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

£999,999.00 more than what he's worth. Absolutely rotten. Offers absolutely nothing in the team for me.

It'll be hearts taking the piss after we bid that amount for Wilson.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

They surely believe he's unhappy at Tannadeechee.
How else is that bid worth lodging?

Re: Hearts taking the piss

Apparently Blackburn Rivers are showing an interest in Souttar as well according to the......err....P&J.......fwiw

Oh.....and, according to the Hootsmon, Hertz are coming in with second bid.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

Souttar's head has clearly been elsewhere this season and some of his performances have been terrible.  He does have talent though and if we had to pay Deadco £200K for Telfer then Hertz can GTF with offers of £100K.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

1) the defence splitting pass that resulted in our goal v celtic.

Doesn't do enough of the "dirty" work for me. Never see him bursting a gut to get back and help if he looses possession.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

Ye did ask what he's done - it was a brilliant ball through (with an equally good finish)

I had expected him to kick on and be an important first team player but it's not really happened - maybe due to the techniques of the last management team.

I'd say john is maybe naturally lazy - but that doesn't mean he can't/won't work hard.

They wanted the players to go and express themselves and not worry about the repercussions.... i don't think that went hand in hand with the kick up the bum that the lad needs occasionally. Not a dig at the lad - some of the best folk need a kick up the bum occasionally.

I'd love to see him sign a 2 1/2 year contract and see how he progresses. I'd be gutted if he goes to the likes of hearts and turns into the player we know he can be

Re: Hearts taking the piss

Souttar has been poor overall this season, there's no point in sugar-coating.

But his price to go elsewhere is based on his potential.Which imo is still huge.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

I reckon if Robertson and Gauld were both still at United he'd be ten times better. From what I've heard/read/seen he seems peed off that he didn't get the same kind of move and rather than get the head down he's taken a huff. Pity.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

He may be pissed off but if he took a step back and looked at what others achieved for us he is nowhere near their standard, Souttar is still about potential rather thsn commanding a first team place and running the games.

Re: Hearts taking the piss

True. Andy Robertson's attitude and work rate is a great example of what can be achieved. I doubt you'd see him poncing about on Instagram etc showing off  new haircuts etc (could be wrong but doubt it)

Re: Hearts taking the piss

If Levien or similar had been at Utd over the last couple of years instead of JM, Souttar would be 1st pick on the team sheet and dominating games.  He's suffered, as have others from poor coaching and management at a very important time in his career.

For his sake he needss a move to get going again, Hearts would be good for him.
