Even bringing in a player today gives him one training session before being thrown into the lions den on saturday.
3 weeks into the window and we have got rid of way more players than has come in......

Aye, Arab plumber, it appears we are taking a huge risk, I cannae understand it. It's in nobody's interest that we go down, yet it seems we are going about it in the worst possible manner. Don't mind letting players go, but it's plain to everyone that our defence will always flog goals.

It's pathetic mate.I can't believe more supporters aren't livid about our lack of activity in this window so far.
I think our support has sadly became apathetic and resigned to our fate.

Let's be honest - at 14 points behind, seemingly unable to do basic defending and unable to score more than one goal in a game - the board have probably decided not to pour good money after bad
Can't say I blame them for that
Personally i'll keep hoping until it's mathematically impossible for us to stay up, but I understand that they have to look at next season and the likely revenue drop.
Even if we spent big there's no guarantee we'd avoid the drop so money brought in and saved gives us a better chance of coming right back up

I think it all depends on Saturday.
Lose and go 17 pts behind and we'll see more outs than Ins.
We'll see youngsters playing more games. We'll see the club and team prepare for a stint in the championship.
Should we win on Saturday, Game on.

had heard earlier this week that we would be taking a Romanian defender on trial
someone has put this name on Utdmad, Andrei Cordos
make of it what you wish...

In the papers the day as well mate!

Been out the loop for a couple of days and skimming through all the topics it looks like my main fear has been realised - we're not signing any chunt until 5pm Saturday.
What a shambles, we're going in to our biggest game in a decade without our first choice right and left back and the worst defence by far in the league.
22nd of Janaury and we're selling international defenders and releasing promising youngsters but still looking at trialists, at best.
Fucking shambles.

Just the 8 clubs for him in 9 years.
Smacks of utter desperation signing a foreign journeyman.
So fucked off with our dealings this transfer window. But sadly not surprised anymore.

Utterly ridiculous from mixu and Thompson, we pay our hard earned money to see cunts like bodul, sneijder, telfer ect getting signed, lazy transfer policy signing Europeans how are quite frankly shite! We were at our best when we signed boys like swanson, Conway, Gomis , baubens from lower league teams on free transfers with them hungry to come and play for us, the boys we are signing do give a fuck about us or the club along as they pick up a big wage packet at the end of the month there happy, sad but true

Oh and btw knoyle is not in the squad so we have no right back or left, utterly disgraceful
Ali Coote out on loan to East Fife
Oops missed Tek's earlier seperate thread

If we got beat at the weekend we wouldn't have signed anyone but now there is a feeling we actually could stay up I reckon we'll sign 1/2

Hasn't exactly been on fire for southend - 14 league appearances (5 off the bench) and 4 league goals - under contract until end of season and played on Saturday for them - didn't play in october/november so looks as though had an injury
If true not filling me with joy

Cannae see that. No need, plus he's under contract and would cost a fee.
It's central defenders we should be looking for.

Just on loan, though.

Do we really need him though? He's 35 is he not. Winger and centre half please or if going for ANOTHER striker, we not a target man that can hold the ball up?

Funnily enough i was saying to my Brother on Saturday that Simon Murray reminded me of a young Noel Hunt with his performance (chasing every ball, harrying defenders, constant movement,linking-up with others).
If we have the 'young Noel Hunt' why do we need the old one?
Although that said i still do feel we need another forward.I'm not impressed with McKay tbh.Take away the penalties and he's been a dissapointment for me.Muirhead not rated by Mixu it would seem.
Forward, left winger and most of all Centre Half required in the next week please Mixu

No way we should be even thinking of signing him now, completely fed up bringing ex players back.
