I reckon we'll see the other side of Gunning on Saturday if things are going wrong.
The shouting at team mates and trying to provoke opponents.
He actually has a modicum of ability too. That's the most frustrating thing.
Sadly he's a complete arsehole.

I actually think it's a nervous thing he's got.

Think you are spot on there: it's a confidence and immaturity issue. He isn't very bright, and doesn't know how to react to his actions. But he needs dropped, for the team's sake. Problem is our lack of replacements.

You could be right there mate.
That doesn't excuse the rest of his unprofessional behaviour though.

Could be
Not helping matters and making fans hare him even more.

I'd agree he's not very bright and he's probably immature but I can't believe that the not-giving-a-fuck laughing and general fuckaboutery is anything to do with him being nervous.
It would take some kind of sociopath to act like he does in training, in interviews and in Lochee to then turn in to a shy, retiring boy who's low on confidence and has a nervous reaction of smiling when he fucks up on the pitch.
He's a clown and he doesn't give a fuck.

I get a nervous feeling whenever he's near the team. See folk say but he could be good, he's got ability etc, but he has no positional sense, never marks his man and blames it all on others for not doing his job for him. These were the reasons I wasn't keen on him coming back.
All this laughing and not giving a fuck is the icing on the shitty cake that he is.

Met him in the Balaka on my works xmas night out, got a photo with him. In hindsight I should taken his f###in head off!....... Man is a clown!!

Man has all the ability and none of the attitude. Gunning on his day would walk into most premiership sides - more often than not he acts like a clown and appears to have a bad attitude.
Plenty footballers have been in his shoes

He will forever live off his early career at Blackburn, he had heaps of potential but gambling shagging drinking and anything but being a professional footballer have been his undoing.
His onfield laughing should see him punted, I would be happy if he never played for us ever again.

He never displayed any of this behaviour under Stuart McCall at Motherwell funnily enough.
Incidentally he played Left Back there because he was deemed 'not aggressive' enough to play Centre Half so i've been told.

I've thought that all along, so I don't really hold it against him. Lots of people nervously laugh at things like slipping on ice or whatever.
