Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

Fair do's regarding the ticket price. Any idea how much we get for per Live TV match broadcast, such as Friday night?
(incidently how many do we get in a Season at Home - never see them coz am always at the game!).

I'm guessing BT and the BlahBlahChunts wont be showing Championship matches anymore assuming the Govan Comedy act come up.

Is that 7-9 times Live Home and Away m8? Is the figure of 85k you quoted for Home games only?

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

In total for games mate, it's a guess, actually think the money is only for cup games actually. The league tv money is split evenly regardless of appearances on television I think.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

TV money is paid in two ways.

Half of it is split equally amongst all 12 teams then the second half is paid based on league placing.

There is no difference if you're on 37 times or 1 time a season.

It used to be £82,500 per team for a Scottish Cup game on Sky, don't know if it still is or of BBC paid the same.

So based on those figures, how much would we stand to lose if heaven forbid we go into the ginnels of the Championship.

This is all getting a bit 'derry' for my liking.

Take yer punishment like men and move on.

Anything other than a united win this week pretty much seals our fate

Nobody on here has said anything about not taking our punishment and moving on.

Our fate is already sealed on the field.

What the adults are discussing is the possible off field ramifications.

If you're not interested in taking part don't.

And you can take your Derry comment and ram it right up your Arse.

Between lost prize money from league placings, less ( if any ) tv money and lower gates, away supports will be in the main like Hamiltons, it has to be 7 figures I would think.

But like all this there's a bit of guesswork involved.

These are the sort of things You would think Arabtrust would be working on to get answers from the board.  Maybe they are, who knows.

I'm not, as I said earlier don't see the point in them.

But they're here and I would see it as their remit to ask these questions.

Totally agree , pointless.

Ask pertinent questions ? they'll not do that -it'll cut off the lifeline to free tickets and chumminess with the club.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

As has been said they have an associate director on the board... If any of you are members fire in an email and ask them what you want.

Or the other trust committee members that look on here can reply to you

Never been a member, so fair enough they don't tell me what's going on, reason I've never been a member is to my mind they've never done anything which a fans trust should be doing.  The fact they were Eddies disciples back in the day went they were never gonna question the board at that time and I don't see anythings changed.

Now now, temper temper - almost looks like I'm not allowed to have a differing opinion to yours....

If united go into Admin it will be hugely embarrassing. Would you prefer we suck it up, pay our bills and move on or would you prefer to take the quick fix(like the dee), f@ck over local businesses (like the dee) and generally be a bunch of bawbags  (like the dee)

Me? I'll take a club that acts with integrity. As long as there's a club, we will always support it - whether we are in the premiership, championship or the Highland league - i don't really care who we play enough to go into Admin.

Maybe want to stop with the childish insults and discuss - even change my mind, if we don't agree. Aso not sure why you thought it was a personal dog at you..... maybe you are a big deal round here and I don't know it?

Have u actually read the thread, gonna tell me who thinks we should go into admin?

And u coming on here calling anyone "Derry like" is the biggest insult of all

Not taking anything personal btw, but ur post came across that the discussion shouldn't be taking place, and what folk choose to discuss is upto them.  U didn't offer an opinion different to anyone for me to say your not allowed a different opinion btw.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

The figure re gate receipts above are fine, if you think folk will pay £20 at the gate, or pay premier league season ticket prices.

No danger that'll happen.

Then you have to consider what trackside avertising is in the Fizzy League, how much you can expect from shirt sponsors, next to 0 prize money, little or no tv money, shitey away crowds and hospitality will be down as well.

When we went down last time we threw bucket loads of cash to get back up, had we not had Petric and McKinlay to sell, we would've been fucked.

Look at Hibs, how many years have they been in there, with their crowds and pull?

We've no banking facilities to run into, we still have about 1.5m left of debt from about 5.2m in June 2012.

Since then we've sold Goodie, Russell, Robertson, Gauld, Armstrong, GMS and Shifty.

That's about 10m of transfer fees and we still have 1.5m of debt, plus any overspend this season.

Invest and plan for next season, we'll not be investing and we'll be planning for more than a 'one season jolly'

Admin is a total cunt of a thing to do and I wouldn't be supportive of it, but when Well did it, they did it to clear the decks of high earners and most of the money owed was to their owners, would we be so different?

Who's our outstanding debt to and why the fuck do we have any at all, given the amounts we've recieved for our players.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

I find it unbelievable we still have debt too.

Bear in mind the bank underwrote a fair bit of the debt as part of the deal we struck with them.

"Where's the money?"

The way the players sales went I'm not sure they did.

I wrote the details on here at the time and I can't remember exactly what the script was now but it was along the lines of....

We owed the bank £4.5m, we agreed a deal of £2.8m to write it all off, with the caveat that the bank would receive a reducing percentage of player sales in the next three transfer windows up to a total of £1.5m.

We sold loads of players so I assume we paid the bank £4.3m of the £4.5m capital debt we owed at the time of the arrangement.  We would have saved on interest and gained breathing space but with hindsight I'm not sure we saved all that much in total.

However there is an argument that we only got top dollar for the sales because we had no bank debt and no pressure to sell.

Loss of TV money alone will be around £600k different from a top 4 finish in Premiership versus top 4 finish in Championship.

As others have said, drop in sponsorship, season tickets, away fans and walk up gate receipts, hospitality, prize money on top of the drop in TV you could be looking at losing around £1.5m in income if we're challenging at the top and £2m if we're struggling.

There would likely be an offset of expenditure too, high earners let go, bin St Andrews maybe and train at Gussie, who knows, minimum a million pound a year worse off I'd guess.

All of what you said Andy makes sense, but see this top dollar bit, I'm not sure how accurate it is.  I'm pretty sure all the reported transfer figures were hugely inflated and included every possible add on, most of which we'll never see.  If that's not the case then the sums very clearly do not add up to the financial position were still in.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

Re. Ticket/gate prices. I just selected 20 quid as a round figure, as some of them are 25 and some are 19 etc etc.

Checked the ticket prices for Home Matches in some of the Championship teams, Dumbarton, Raith, Falkirk to name a few, and they're all about £18 - £20, so in the Guesstimate figures never changed the Ticket price for next Season projections.

I'll alter the figures of Post 68 with the average Ticket price of £18 that somedy suggested, and include the TV figure of £600k that Andy mentioned, and post it again to see what it looks like.

Re: The Official Thompson/BoD/Grievance Tekel Towers Threed

If we go down, we could be saved by the fact andy robertson is still being touted for moves to the premier.

Sure that clause has a hefty % in our favour - however hoping for a player to be sold who doesn't even play for us is pretty desperate times
