Hull prepared to put in £1m bid for spittal

MMMmmmmmmmm now if that was to come in would taking it offset a drop to the Championship or do we turn it down to keep him for the fight to stay up. Would they loan him back until the end of the season??

Re: January transfers

When he accepts he needs to try get back on loan.

Also needs to be all fee upfront instead of made up with add ons like the rest of the players he has sold which we havent had full afee quoted.

Re: January transfers

No way would we sell our best player and pretty much the only player creating chances season to date mid-season when we've got so much to play for, would we? Oh yeah I remember now, we would.

Seriously at this stage of his development it's a fair price, boys good, it's a pity he's not had a settled position and had too much pressure put on him with the lack of good experience around him.
It's also a shame that there's so many in our support who are determined to be proved right with their early decisions that "he offers nothing" when clearly he offers a lot.

If we took £1m now then it may be the 1 slight chance we have of staying up tho, use that money to pay wages for 5 quality players we need to improve.  Would possibly need to be loans as January is crap for getting players in without fees. Should be looking at securing GMS and scouring EPL teams for fringe players who could help us out.

Need to tell Hull now or not at all tho to give us time to get it done.

If however we take the money, sign 2 players no better than we've got and pocket the rest, then trouble lies ahead for our owner.  We cannot accept that happening.

Re: January transfers

I dont think there is a chance of Mixu getting any of a fee toward players TS, the cash will be ringfenced for any losses in the Championship by ST

Re: January transfers

That would be more money for the Newcastle jets fund

Re: January transfers

Re: January transfers

I like Spittal, but if we got anywhere near £1 million of him that would be deal of the century.

Re: January transfers

Was sent this earlier as a screenshot TEK.
6ft 3 striker. No the best o stats in his professional career. Scored 28 in 28 games for reading u18s before singing pro contract at watford. Vale fans on his twitter gutted to see him go.

Re: January transfers

No disrespect to him but I don't think he's what we need just now. A winger or creative midfielder surely before him. Especially with Muirhead back.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Your correct mate.

Seems a strange one ans doubt much if anything will come of it.

Re: January transfers

Utd have agreed in principal a loan deal with Celtic for Anthony Stokes apparently.

It's now upto the player if he wants to come upto Dundee.

I think he'll reject us for Hibs.Just a hunch.

Apols Bowers never noticed your post till I'd posted mine.

Re: January transfers

Not fussed either way on Stokes TBH. Other areas should be priority, if they're dealt with also then fair enough.  He is s prick tho!  Also think he'll end up st Hibs.

1 good thing is the players being quoted would suggest a change in formation is on the way, maybe Mixus finally realised his negative tactics aren't working.

Re: January transfers

Mind he tweeted about Paul Paton saying he 'was a nothing guy' or words to that effect.

Can't imagine him wanting to come upto Dundee for a relegation battle and to share a dressing room with him.

He'll go to Hibs. (if they can pay his wages).

Re: January transfers

Would be a class signing if we could get him, much better finisher 1 v 1 than Mckay.

Re: January transfers

Although he may prefer to go to hibs as he has been there before, he might still have slight ambitions of being in the republic squad for the euros. If this is the case going to the championship in Scotland is surely going to pretty much end the chances of that no matter how many goals he scores down there. Coming to United and scoring in the premier league however may be looked upon more favorably when it comes to being selected?

Just a thought....

Re: January transfers

Agent scotland tweet saying celtic have accepted 6 loan offers us ict hibs and 3 championship sides.

Canna see Stokes coming to Tannadice when he has those other offers, especially any from England.
