If we go down the reaction towards him when it happens is not going to be pretty. He's not doing himself any favours with this interview.

Had a mate tell me adamantly 4 years ago, a youth coach, that ET's money left was to the club and folk disagreed with the new supposed idea and direction. Remember ST on the radio laughing of his dad's investments in an interview with Spencey saying we won't see that back.
I then wondered when the player sales erupted into less gain financially whether the written off debt was resurrected.
I still don't know.
I used to trust ST, now I'm really no too sure.
He has a very good chance to prove himself here regardless of broken relationships.
Fuckin do it and save oor club or shut the fuck up and dissappear!

Sounds like a pre justified escape having re couped previously written of investment!
Hope I'm wrong but sat on the fence for a long time regarding ST. Wasn't sure what to think when the fallout was going on between ST, JMac and Fed/Trust.
I would trust some of the Fed boys with my life. United to the very core.

Cunt sounds like Shaggy, "It Wasn't me"
Setting us up for the shit that's still to come post relegation.
You know what annoys me when they talk about the family investment, every penny which went to the club was wasted by ET, he made so many bad decisions, was like 3am in the Mardi when he was picking managers, just the scraps nobody else would ride left. The player recruitment was shit then too. Wouldn't mind them getting the money back so much if it hadn't been pissed away the way it was.
If it wasn't for Craig Levein then just about every year since they took over would have been a relegation fight, for a while it did look like ST was doing a decent job, but the reality is Leveins hard work was the reason we did well long after he left. Maybe Houstons problem when he left was he seen ST wanted that dismantled and a different way, which that cunt Mcnamara gave him.
In short Fuck off Thompson, you've made a cunt of it, now the time to show balls, admit it and fix it, or like I said just Fuck off.

Nae offence bud but it's hard to gather an opinion from those in the know whether supporter Shedboys or business controlling supposed Shedboys.
Some of us doubt the business aspect but doubt the fan in the know reaction due to the on going conflict is hard to gauge as we are all passionate and sometimes suspect self importance is a factor on both sides.
That's definitely a factor when persuading others on UTD's side.
Most of us don't know what to think and more than ever are dug in protecting previous opinions and disagreements.
Online is one thing. Hope we can as fans rally on match days and do what WE
do and shout wur pusses aff!
Can't control ST or cheer him on at all it seems. He will lay his own destiny this season.
I don't mind being wrong.
I just want everycunt with a voice to use it for the next 17 games bud.

I'm at a total loss as to why he would do an interview like this. I mean he's probably filled a lot of folk with a lack of confidence about the Club, and made us nervous wrecks into the bargain (I mean talkin aboot admins FFS). Not to mention he's no exactly given a good impression of himself.
There is something going on behind this. You don't come out with this without having a motive.
Do not trust him.
Totally agree with the above. Have been thinking about the interview all evening to try and consider it fairly. But even having listened to it again, I still think it was jaw-droppingly bad. Embarrassing. And, worst of all- hugely alarming. There is definitely an agenda here, and not one we're going to like once it's apparent. I think all of a sudden, relegation is possibly the least of our worries right now. I think there's something much bigger happening, with potentially longer term consequences for the club than a year in the 1st division (cannae go this "championship" crap). Don't wish to be melodramatic, but that scared the shit out of me...

Aye this uncertainty is worrying. Can only hope ST gives Mixu real money and hope that Mixu can get the required talent in.
Hard to see a happy ending TBH. :-(

Could pick plenty holes in ST's interview content, including the simplistic bits about potential administration when either Eddie (2002) or Stephen (2008) took over (unsure at what point he was suggestion that would have been beneficial).
But, although the man has broken his self imposed silence which many have been asking for, he'd have been better keeping this interview for another time, given the situation we are in.
Anyone with an ounce of sense could have told him that the content would be disruptive to the fan base at a time that we should all be pulling in the same direction. We surely need to be focussing on the park, not the boardroom, at least until we know the outcomes of this season.

Remember on here a while back I stated that the arabtrust associate director said at a meeting between fed and trust that the club wouldn't go into admin but would get liquidated. Well it's got me thinking again into why he would say that. Is this thompsons plan?? He stated losses are going to be massive
I'm just thinking this is his way of clearing out all operating losses and starting afresh

Could be, or could be a desperate plea for others to invest now and cut his losses.

Who the fuck thought that would be a good idea?
Whoever it was wants tin tacked for gross incompetence, FFS

Saying he should of put us in admin is the final straw with that cunt. Things need to be done to get rid of that prick from our club.

Shambles of an interview, as others have said, what good can come out of this?
I can only think that in his warped mind that he thought fans would think he was the saviour before and he's a safe pair of hands this time too.
If we go down it's time for a complete clear out from top to bottom, any owner, chairman, MD, manager that takes the third biggest budget in the league down needs changed.
Dundee United should never be relegated, its compete mismanagement at every level if we go down.
He states that there is no one waiting in the wings but surely someone would be interested if the price was right.

Not one of the guys I know give a shit about 'self importance' only Dundee United. Pretty depressing that United fans think like that.
Suppose we will get our just desserts very soon for trusting this man.

Anyone ever wonder what ST’s credentials to running a football club actually are?
Anyone know if he has ever had a job in the ‘real’ world as opposed to the coattails of his father.
The debt the Thompson family took over was 2.8 million. The Accounts do not lie.
Dundee United, where I put my hard earned cash, does not owe Stephen Thompson a living, although I believe he thinks they do.
Blaming the manager, for what clearly are his failings is beyond a joke. This man has no humility. I don’t claim to know much above football, but jesus, blindly letting your manager do/sign whoever he wants, without asking any questions is not ‘supporting’ - it’s ‘neglection’…it’s what some of us refer to as ‘not doing your job’.
Everyone knows the mistakes that have been made, they add up and up, and I firmly believe there will be more to come. Stevie Campbell tribunal waiting in the wings to add further fuel.

Fair point and pretty damning.
Wonder if someone stole all their keyboards in 2003 though when other matters up the road were needing investigated.
