Worse team I've ever seen

Watched utd for 40 years. Worst team ever. Mixu ain't got a clue. We're going down. No matter what players we bring in I can't see him managing them properly.

Absolutely gutted!!!

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Don't see the point in spending money to try and stay up anymore, it's too late, better just getting ready for the 1st division and making sure we get back 1st time, it won't be easy.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Fucking disgrace of a team. Genuinely thought our best players today were Dillon and Rankin that's how bad things are. Made millions aff player sales and only money we spent was on some utter prick putting some shitey graffiti / Street art in the concourses of the stands.

Ken what eh canna believe most of all. Playing 1 up front all of 2015 got us to the bottom of the league so why the fuck are we still insisting on it. Some cunt honestly want to explain what's wrong with 442, the formation which won us the Scottish and back to back European slots. Who knows maybe I've played too much football manager.

Speaking of football manager does anyone ken what Mixu says at half time to get this side so demotivated? Must be like ane of they wee boys that plays FM and sets the team talk to aggressive  'wtf was that out there, do better or gtf' despite the scoreline or performance.

Sick of it. Went for the cheap option with players, cheap option with managers and now easy option with journeyman replacements who absolutely can not dig us out the hole we're in. Simple as that.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

dillon bottled it from mcgowan edge of box and was lucky not to have seen the cunt score from it.
Erskine horrific should have scored but still dont know why he never tried to get the ball!!
Gunning dixon shite,
Didnt think Mackay had his best game for us although not saying he was that bad or that good same with Mcgowan.
Thought spittal demel and rankin our best performers. Although spittal and rankine filtered out the game. Saying that the whol team did 2nd half.
keeper fucking error once again for the first goal. Apart from that thought he was ok.
murray and bodul? not even worth bringing on ken that.
Mixu...I didnt want him in October. Cheap option that bastard thompson went for and he is proving to be no better than what we had!!! As said above from morphman wat the fuck does he say at half time to the players? seriousl.

We are not getting out of this mess. Not a chance.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Just sick of it

Sick of to my stomach having to stand there and listen to the Dee laughing at us
Sick of watching us throw away lead after lead
Sick of having next to nobody with any fire in their bellies
Sick of having no game changers on the bench

Fuck the current crop of shite which is plaguing our once great club now the laughing stock of Scottish football

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Granted the current team is abysmal however I think they may have just edged a low scoring affair with the team sturrock left in 99. Partridge maquilan skoldmark vDurnan Dillon and rankin. So yes we are shite but we have been shinier.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

I think Luggy's post-Billy Dodds team might have been worse too Beharder.

There's not much in it though I'll tell you that.

An abysmal squad of players who have no leaders or matchwinners.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Maybe just cause time has passed but for me this is THE worst UTD team I have ever seen!

Only funny thing about it is Souttar is hoping to get a move to Celtic but he canny get a game in this UTD team sums up the attitude in the camp for me

Part of the problem is the leaders we have are not match winners.
The experienced players that the youth are to look up too are quite inconsistent.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

We were really lacking boys with either pace or guile yesterday. We don't have the pace to get in behind on the wings so we try to play through teams, but don't have players with the guile to do it. Fraser was absolutely honking yesterday and how he stayed on is completely beyond me. Erskine was honking first half, but was playing better in the 2nd half, but was inexplicably hooked??? We had loads of posession but had no idea of what to do with it largely because Rankin and Demel were having to do all the creative stuff, which is not their game.

We can't even go long because in our squad of 51 players there is not one target man, and our set pieces and crossing are woeful so we never look like scoring from them despite having a lot of big players now.

We keep moaning about our defence but tbh if nothing is happening in the final third its an enormous pressure on them to keep out goals, which they are clearly not up to.

This is exactly the problem.
Since Armstrong has went we have no one to supply the all on his own lone striker.

He used to bring the ball forward at pace and could pick out a pass.
I suppose Telfer was meant to do this but he is nowhere near far enough along in his development. I think he actually regressed a bit under McNamara.

He was often maligned but I suppose this past year has shown us exactly what he brought to the table.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

It used to crack me up when boys like purple constantly said things like
I just don't see a player in Armstrong, , absolutely mind boggling statement

Armstrong was our dynamo

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

See when I seen the line up yesterday morning I thought it looked really good.

Thought to myself there is no way this is the worst XI in the league, probably top 6.

First half I thought they played very well, particularly the middle 15 minutes, as others have said tho, fuck knows what Mixu says at half time, that second half was shocking.

I was all for Mixu when appointed but he's been an absolute disaster.

Good post that.  In regards to defense though, I think what gets me about it is that we generally have set up with 6, 7 or 8 defensive minded players yet we are still honking at the back.

Points are all good about us going forward.  Basically the issues are absolutely everywhere.  It's a mess.

Have to remember, though, that if Purple was a light bulb, he'd be no more than 15 watts.

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

Can't agree that the only money spent is on decorating the concourses as we have spent nearly £500k has been spent in transfer fees. Over £200k on Telfer, £175k on Muirhead, £50k on Murray and how we paid £50k for Szromnik is beyond me. I think the board backed the previous manager in the sense of bringing in players as is shown by the current size of the squad and all the additional players that didn't cost fees. The problem is we have signed quantity and not quality and none of the players we spent money on are good enough to hold down a regular first team place.

I think some of the blame for this must reside with the board in that there was no proper oversight of the football operations which has left us with a large but completely imbalanced squad. This has put Mixu in a difficult position and while on one level I get his idea behind playing 3 at the back because I think I theory this is the best formation for the players we have he has to show a bit more flexibility in his tactics during the game and if we go behind change the tactics a bit even if it means throughing one of the centre backs up front for 10 minutes like Levein did with Wilkie, it might not be pretty but would give us a different option. I am not convinced any other manager would get much more out of these players as the majority are just not good enough.

ST and the board have got themselves into a really difficult position because even spending money now will not guarantee safety as we are so far behind. While there are still enough points to play for I will harbour some hope that we can survive but it is going to take something miraculous for us to avoid the drop and I don't see where the initial spark is going to come from to turn things around.

On the positive side of things I can always console myself with the fact I am not a BNB!

There were games where Armstrong looked like a future Scotland captain there were games when he looked like a lost wee boy. I really don't know if he has the guts of the stomach to move to a bigger club than the one he is at now. He was and still is a massive loss to us

Exactly. The reason he is a massive loss is that the other teams new what he was capable of.
They didn't stop marking him when he was having a shite game.
This afforded lesser lights like Dow and erskine more space.

McNamara never picked up on this I assume when he thought he had adequate cover.
It's a lot more difficult being the main focal point in the team rather than a supporting role.
Our current incumbents aren't up to it.

It would have been wiser following the levein approach and loaning Telfer etc out to see what they had before deciding they were up to it!

Re: Worse team I've ever seen

It's quite frightening when you think about the players we had in 95 when we went down, to the group of players we have now.

Remember the positive because the only time he looked like a lost wee boy was when other players were three passes behind his vision. Stretch is EPL/Bundesliga bound.
