When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

I'm genuinely struggling.

McKay (won't be here anyway)
Gunning
Fraser
Erskine
Dixon (although he's doing fuck all to justify my faith in him)
Spark? (Will probably start as rb when McGowan leaves)

Are any of the young laddies worth keeping? They seem to have the losing mentality as well.

Harry Souttar? (John&Harrys Old Boy will probably have him out of Tanny though  )
Coote?
Robson
Brad Smith

I'd pretty much get shot of everyone else. 10 players out of a squad of 51 is shocking mismanagement.

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

Also to the point - who will we bring in? Any decent player would need to think long and hard about joining United as things are currently. I'm not usually a gloom and doom person, but 2015 has knocked the stuffing out of me!  I have started to think "Fuck it, if the players can't be bothered (as it would seem) then why should I get all worked up about something I can do nothing about anyway!?"
I keep thinking of packing in altogether what has admittedly become my dwindling support and taking less interest in club affairs.  But when it's in the blood what can you do??

Who's still under contract for next season?

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

Any player who is out of contract at end of season should be allowed to leave.

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

100% agree.

I would also tell any players who have 12 months left on their contract they are free to find other clubs and we'll not ask for a fee.

IF we go down we need a total clear out, and I think we would need to replace the manager also.

Thank fuck Dillon signed a 2 year deal

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

Of the players who'll still be in contract I'd keep Zwick, Fraser, and Spittal as they have potential to be good players.

Would also keep McKay if we could (but he'll be off).

Other than that wouldn't be heartbroken to see anyone depart.

Clear the decks and start again with a mixture of young, hungry and aggressive players with pace and 4 or 5 more experienced players who still have ambition/a point to prove.

Harry Souttar just signed a contract extension (to 2018 IIRC)

If we go down would think Rankine could still do a job for us.

Zwick has fallen out with mixu

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

Sat right beside United bench last night.  I would not keep the manager next season.

As far as players go, where do you start.  We have two decent and like able fullbacks, the rest are not good enough and/or not up for the fight.  More to come.

Why not? What did you see or hear that made you come to that decision?

So his being benched is down to a personality issue?

I find McGowan average tbh.

Dixon was a tremendous player. But has been totally pish since his return.

We need a new left back.

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

I'm clutching at straws tek but they were the best professionals out there last night by a mile.

The three center backs we started last night were fucking honking.

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

McGowan is overrated IMO and Dixon has been a massive wet pump. Anyone who is out of contract should be shown door at end of season

McGowan may be an overrated full back but imo is our best CH.

I have been puzzled as to why he's been played at RB and can only assume that Mixu feels he has no alternative.

Imo this has been a big mistake, as has the 3-5-1 formation.

That's it, that's why we're losing were only playing with 10 men!

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

Just had a look, of those listed in the 1st team section on official website, it looks like the following are still under contract for next season.

Dillon, Dixon, Paton, Telfer, Durnan, Spittal, Muirhead, Szromnik, Anier, Donaldson and  Bodul, so
                                Szromnik
Dillon.         Donaldson.         Durnan.       Dixon
          Spittal           Paton.             Telfer
   Anier.                    Muirhead.             Bodul

Not that fussed about any of the others going, Except Scott Fraser, he should be kept on if possible.

Of those still under contract, well there's not much we can do about it, but there's at least half a dozen I wouldn't be sorry to see the back of.  Not convinced that team above would get promoted either, a lot of work ahead.

Sure someone else had a 12 team line-up earlier in the year and that didn't work either

At least you get maximum effort from mine

And too think that no alcohol was involved in producing my classic line-up

Mark Durnan is a horror show.  Felt sorry for him last night, you got the feeling as he walked off last night that he knows he just isnt good enough.  Cant feel good.

He's trying, but just not good enough, not his fault we keep playing him.  Feel sorry for him too tbh.

No worries mate, I had a wee pop at whoever had the twelve team line-up so karma has bit me in the arse  - as it does.

So a happy New year (in advance) to you and all on here and hope you are all getting as pished as I am

Re: When the inevitable happens, who would you keep?

In an ideal world, we'd clear the decks and start from scratch. I'm struggling to think of even 1 player I would miss. I include the manager in the clear out.
