Re: ICT v Utd - Sat 19th December 3pm

I think we'll catch Killie, it's catching someone else when they are picking up unexpected points which will prove much more difficult.

Another player other than McKay scoring is a wee bonus, two goals in a game for the first time since, is it August (?) as well. Seemed to have a lot of other chances too.

Trying to be positive, but we'll always risk losing goals with a couple of the players playing today in our defence, as presently these players show little confidence. It's a good point normally, so to avoid getting too upset, I'll just accept it and move to the next match.

Not having a proper keeper by the week before xmas coupled with every other team except us finding wins us why we are going down.

Re: ICT v Utd - Sat 19th December 3pm

How did we play? Was working and only caught bits of the last 15mins on Open All Mics. All I picked up was that it was a cracking match and the keeper let in a howler and might have been fouled at the goal.

As PatReilly says above Kilmarnock are still very catchable but if we want to finish better than second bottom then Motherwell at home looks like a must win (tbh probably must win to avoid relying on poor results from Killie) and we would need two points min from the Hearts and Dundee games too.

I have a feeling I'm clutching at straws though.

Re: ICT v Utd - Sat 19th December 3pm

After a 5 hour round trip to Edinburgh and back, to pick up my daughter for Xmas, I never made the game today. TBH, I didna think we were gonna get phuck-all from this game. It might end up being a priceless point as the Season goes on, mibbee even getting us out the sh1t. I'm hoping I'm right when I say "And we're off".

Wasn't there today, unfortunately probably won't see another game this season, but it sounds like Mixu bottled it again, substitutions to hold on, not brave enough.  He clearly has no faith in the players at his disposal.

I agree.

Takes off McKay late on for Dillon.Fair enough ICT might have had us under the cosh but you still need to have a forward up there to hit them on the counter. It's more or less throwing in the towel in an attacking sense having no recognised forward on the pitch for the last few minutes.

His plan was to try and cling on to the point, but ultimately it backfired. Why not throw on another forward and at least give us a chance at trying to kill them off instead of trying (and failing) to grimly hang on?

It's all a wee bitty negative for me.Look at the impact MCghee's had at Motherwell, going to Parkhead and outplaying and beating Celtic. They have the same squad they had when we beat them 0-2 down there in August. He has rejuvenated them though and gave them the spark you would hope to get from a New Gaffer. He's took the shackles off them.

We need to get back to trying to win games rather than not trying to lose them, otherwise we are definitely destined to fail.

For Inverness' 2nd equaliser, I thought our keeper got fouled. Did anyone else think this?

No sadly I think he came out half hearted,  kinda shat it. I complain keepers get it too easy so I'd be contradicting myself if I said foul. The cross should have been stopped 30 secs to go soutar should've  went through the the player who crossed imo.

That's fair enough Doddys, just wondered what others thought.

The way I saw it was, the Inverness player (no. 39 I think) that was challenging Szromnik jumped very early and was never ever going to win the header, whilst in the air, I thought no. 39 gave Szromnik a nudge which caused him to spill the ball.

At the end of game, Szromnik was raging with Thomson and ended up getting booked.

I do agree that the cross could have and should have been stopped.

Re: ICT v Utd - Sat 19th December 3pm

Just watched the goal on Arabzone and it's a distant view but doesn't look more of a foul than a pish attempt fae the keeper.

Mixu seems to agree in his after match interview.

Fkn gutted.

Re: ICT v Utd - Sat 19th December 3pm

The team as a whole in they final minutes should've been putting bodies on the line to stop any sort of ball coming in, at one point Im sure on the run up to there final goal a few players were jogging to catch up with play and one of them just came on so no excuses of being tired. The guy who crossed the ball should've been crowded out but only one player tracked him and it just happened to be one of our softest players. Simple errors.
