Read Keilloh's blog this morning. His attitude seems to be that relegation is virtually inevitable and that only a miracle can save United now.
He's not the only one. Loads of folk on here and those I speak to seem completely resigned to the fact.
I simply can't understand it. I absolutely believe we WILL get out of it. But even if I didn't, I'd still believe that we CAN.
We're not even half way through the season yet. 60 points still to play for!
People bang on about a lack of belief in the team. It's far worse in the stands.

I don't read his articles - they've always been highly critical and pessimistic. Where do they appear the Daily Record - it's like they've asked him to be as negative as possible. What make's him an expert anyway? Just rubber that crap. Agree with your last sentiment as well - although the fans were a bit more supportive on Saturday - we do need to ramp that up !!!

Haha, to be honest mate I actually like Keilloh's blogs! Never buy the Record but I usually read his posts online.
I just really don't agree with him on this.
Like you say though, perhaps he's given a wee nudge to write inflammatory things...

The fans have done nothing but back the team home and awaythis far and are contibueing to do so
Yeah there has been critism but always is.

It definitely wasn't complete backing I was hearing after 5 minutes in the ET on Saturday.

I will continue to back the team home and away every week but I know we are going down. Looking forward to alot more 3 o clock kick off's on a saturday and a few new grounds to tick off my list.

The backing at tannadice is shite and it's like a morgue from start to finish.
Apart from a few 'United, united' s when we get a corner there is fuck all.
the nervousness from the stands is palpable.
Not sayin the fans aren't entitled to say what they want but anyone saying the backing is good is deluded.

The reaction of some of our fans when we try to retain possession instead of hoofing a highball towards 5ft 8 Billy Mckay gives the opposition a massive boost. Its not all the fans, however I don't see the attraction in launching it forward and automatically giving away possession

I've not given in yet but with every passing week my belief is being eroded. Pongolles injury and the farcical goalkeeping situation (which should've been addressed first not last) isn't exactly helping.

Doesn't help we are in the worst part of the ground and had our drum taken off of us.

That wasn't a pop at you mate.
I know you've done more than most to create an atmosphere.
Taking the drum of you was a piece of nonsense and the excuse given was laughable

I think we can get out of it. As every week passes it becomes increasingly unlikely that we will though

In my view Mixu is doing a good job (results aside) with the poor hand he has been dealt. The January window is critical for us. ST has to provide the funds to get the three or four players we desperately need to turn things around. If this doesn't happen I will be blaming ST for our misfortunes rather than Mixu. If he does provide the funds, then the onus lies with Mixu.
I don't normally pay much attention to "gossip" but one thing I've just heard is that ST has pulled his money out of United. Whatever that means I haven't a clue, so perhaps best to bin it meantime.

Not given up, as I'm optimistic that there is time and talent available to turn things around.
My heart won't take getting closer to the pack then another slump, then another mini recovery followed by poor results and so on. False hope will kill me.
So, come January, probably the end of that month, I'll hopefully still be optimistic.
We can still get out of it but being realistic as every winless week goes by it gets harder and harder.
Bar an amazing turnaround we'll be at least nine points behind come Jan 3rd.
It'll be tough to pull things back from there plus it's not going to help any January recruitment - don't see too many quality players signing up to the relegation favourites or, frankly, the board shelling out for any long term contracts at SPFL wage levels - so short term deals and loans look likely.
I'd rather be more positive but it is what it is.

We can get out of it, whether we will is a different question.
TBH I'm not sure Mixu believes we will, he certainly didn't believe enough that 11 men could beat 10 the other week to try and win the game, that's when my belief slipped away.

Its going to take a run of 3 or 4 wins out of 5 to get us back in the picture to begin with. Currently cant see that happening but its amazing what a win can do for you at times.

If you can't understand that relegation is inevitable unless we completely change things round by buying new players in January and hoping for the best then you need to have a word with yourself.
I hope we don't get relegated, however we are the worst team in the league and will get relegated unless we sign better players that we currently have.
It's not difficult to comprehend, there has been 54 points to play for, we've won 9. There is another 60 to play for so we should win another 10. Which doesn't even factor that under Mixu (who I love) we've got a worse ppg record against worse teams than Jackie did.

Correct Andy. There's still an entire transfer window to be played out next month where so much will change, not just for us but for the teams around us.
Which is just another reason why people shouldn't even be thinking about the inevitability of relegation yet.
So long to go, so much dealing to be done, so many ups and downs in form for every team.

I think we are going down, the reason is I am not deluded. We are Fukin shite and a lot of people at the Club don't have the best interest of United at heart, it rubs off on everyone. Reap what you Sow and all that.
Would need a near miracle to turn this around, more points behind than we have won all season and it's a week before Xmas. This is not the fans fault.

I'm not deluded enough to think we're any good at the moment either. But then neither are the teams above. There are 5 teams within 11 points at the moment and none of them are any good.
One of them may go on a run in the next six weeks or so but I doubt it. They can't all pick up points. Get a settled XI and with a couple of new faces and we can definitely drag at least a couple of them into it by Feb/March. I don't mean catch up with them, but get within 4 or 5 points.
As much as we all want United out of relegation danger now, the reality it doesn't matter where we sit until the last ball is kicked in May. LOADS of time to drag teams into it.
We'll do this.
No one's blaming the fans.

I haven't seen anything since January 31st last year that will make me think we will stay up, what do you think is going to turn this round on a massive scale?
Our Club is going backwards at an outrageous speed.

It's more what I've seen in the recent past.
It's getting better under Mixu. Granted the results aren't there, and they need to come, but the performances are getting better. Surely no-one can deny they deserved to win the last two home games.
If it keeps improving under Mixu, and it looks like it will, then those results will come.
The squad that's played the last few games, plus Kawashima, match fit Morris, Demel, Pongolle, Paton and Erskine, and the couple of signings Mixu hopes to bring in - I think that's a squad that can keep us up.
Like I say, if we're still well adrift in March I'll worry. Right now, time is on our side. Loads of football to be played.
Offline
We need to win almost every 2nd game. We've won 2 so far this season. Like I said earlier I still have a glimmer of hope but that's all it is. A glimmer. I think we're more likely to go down than stay up tbh

My feelings are yours Trap6. Looking at the big picture under Mixu there is definitely an element of bad luck within the tactical improvement and I'm a stubborn optimist.
I get why a lot of posters, especially close to the inside info are giving up on hope. They feel misunderstood due to a number of reasons and ongoing arguments. They seem to have less hope as their belief in those controlling what amounts to supporting the team and manager is gone.
I still think we will have a memorable good end to a bad season though. A Brian Welsh, Derek Lilley type end bud. Here's hoping.
