Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

Aberdeen are poised to offer Dundee United defender Ryan McGowan a three-year pre-contract deal in January.

Ken exactly how this plays out.
United offer him a new deal.
He says 'I dont want to talk about it until the end of the season, I want to concentrate on keeping United up'.
He signs for Aberdeen as soon as he can after the season ends.

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

Can't understand the excitement over this player.
He's a poor mans Keith Watson.
Even with his fucked needs Keith still chipped in with crucial goals

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

I like McGowan TBH he never shrinks from a tackle and is good going forward. One of only a couple of players who can say they have not let us down over the past shitfest of a year.

Be gutted if we lose him to the sheep as i hate those bastards with a passion like no other.

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

Average player for me, says all that right things but a lot of lip service.

Would have Logan over him every day of the week but guess he's moving on to bigger things.

He's the best right back we've currently got but no better that Keef IMO and I imagine the highest earner at the club.

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

The amount of times he loses the ball is a concern and for a defender to constantly be beaten by a simple ball over the top is not good enough at this level.
He may have dig but that's no use when you are 5 yards out of position.
Watson was poor at stopping crosses but was generally solid defensively and far better at going forward.

Evening express reporting that mcgowan is a target for sheep - id be sick if he isn't signed up for longer and went there....

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

McGowan puts himself about and gets forward. He's not that great though. I wouldn't be offering anyone any new deals until we know what league we are in tbh

Yeah yeah Industrial Estate

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

I like McGowan and would love to see him stay on at Tannadice, but in the current climate, even if we did manage to stay up, would you? Rumour of a three year deal with Aberdeen at his age? Grab it like greased lightening. Oh and Keef? Our bad run didn't just start with getting shot of GMS and Armstrong. To save wages we booted Keef AND Connor out at the same time and they had played more often during the very successful first half of that season than did the the ones who wanted to dance through hoops.

Re: Aberdeen after McGowan apparently

He's ok, that's it.

Not fussed if he goes in the summer TBH, the more changes the better.
