Horror Stat

Just worked out that since February 1st (the day we sold Armstrong/GMS) our points amassed in Premiership games is.....

19 out of a possible 108

That's just about a whole seasons worth of matches (2 games shy) and we sit on 19 points..19...NINETEEN!!

That is incidentally the current total we sit on in Mr Hainey's Projected Points total thread...and some people said it wasn't a true reflection of where we were at.It would seem it is.

P.S. Mixu has amassed just points out of a possible 24 (and seen us knocked out the League Cup after being humiliated on the night).

We are in deep shit.

Re: Horror Stat

Just realised over 20% of the points we've taken in that time is against Dundee...if it wasn't for Zwick fucking one up with the last kick of the game back in August that total would be sitting at 33% (a third of our points won).

Having Dundee drawn into this Dogfight might just be the best thing that happens to us btw.

p.s. Apologies for going all Raymond Babbit. #bored

And Thompson says he would sell them again

Assuming we go down the summer clear out must include that greedy arrogant cunt Thomoson, he is the most tainted person in the whole disastrous saga......

Aye, but 'we' can't really clear out Thompson, since he's the owner.

Re: Horror Stat

The players were always going to be sold. It was just annoying because of the timing and who they were sold too. The reason we are in a mess is because they allowed the halfwit manager sign boys who were not good enough. At the end of the season we should have turned to Jackie and said, "That's enough" Best for all concerned that you go. The media would have turned on Thompson but he gets a big enough salary that he should have made a difficult decision. It turns out he is making a lot of the same mistakes that his old boy made.

This is absolutely spot on. Fucking sick of hearing in the media that this mess is all down to us selling them two in January. Is it fuck. It's down to media darling Jackie being allowed to stay after the summer and replace the players sold with absolute fucking shite!

Re: Horror Stat

Selling Armstrong and GMS ruined last season. This season we should have strengthened by bringing in decent Scottish pros. It was always going to be a transitional season. Signing boys like Rodney and Bodul was madness. Starting the season without an experienced keeper was criminal. Giving Dillon a new 2 (TWO) year deal was a shocker. As soon as the contract details were leaked, that was it for Jackie. I sizable chunk wanted him out. He was never going to turn it around with the fans. I personally think he chucked it as well.

I genuinely think Thompson didn't end Jackies tenure because he was worried about how the media would have turned on him. His old boy did the same with Chisholm.

He didn't sack him because he didn't want to fork out the Compo. That worked out quite well.

I mind saying to the boys I go to the games with at the time, that he had to go. Folk wouldn't stand it. There is probably some truth in the fact that Thompson didn't want to pay the compo TBH. I do think that Thompson also cares what his portrayal in the the media is, that's why I think that also played a part.

Re: Horror Stat

its an absolute fucking disaster.  What has me more worried than anything is that I dont see youngsters in our squad as things stand today that we are going see offers of 1 million on.  We are a selling club, with not many assets to sell just now while the club is operating at losses outside of transfers on the verge of being relegated.

Hunted, dead right on Thompson.  Disgusting catalog of decisions from him.

Re: Horror Stat

Great stat TEK that is both believable & unbelievable at the same time.

Thompson fucked it up for himself big time on that Monday in February, he went from hero to zero that day, loved by the fans for the way he carried himself in the press and the way he stood up to Rangers before they died then Sevco when they tried to take over from Rangers.

He cold have saved some face by sacking McNamara in May but he backed him then took far to long to eventually sack him also.

He is a mug, a rich mug, i'll give him that, but still a mug.

The one fear I also have is the person we were all led to believe to be the great white hope, his sister, is as big a belter as what our chairman is.

We're fucked, team and club.

Re: Horror Stat

Just a wee follow up stat.

The lowest points total we have amassed over a season (since it went to 3 points for a win in 94/95) is 32.That was in season 2002/03, a long depressing, ardous season where over the course of the season we had 3 Managers in the hotseat (Alex Smith/Paul Hegarty/Ian McCall). We finished 11th that season and were only spared relegation because only one team was supposed to be relegated that season and there was no Play-Off in place.

As it turned out Motherwell finished bottom but weren't relegated after Falkirk were denied entry into the SPL over the state of Brockville (they were also ludicrously outvoted in a motion to groundshare at Airdrie.Motherwell were unbelievably allowed a vote).

That we have amassed just 19 points over the entirety of what would be a season and our lowest ever even in the grimmest of times was 32 shows just how brutal we have been for most of 2015.

p.s. we had 36 points when we were relegated in 94/95.

That we have to finish 10th this season to be sure of safety brings home the need for points to be put on the board NOW!!

Good up to a point, but as a local to the Bairns, history has been re-written about their situation around that time. You can research and discover if I'm incorrect, but Falkirk FC decided to ignore the spl rules in place and spend money on players rather than improving their ground, which was a death trap.

I was never in favour of all seated grounds, but the spl set rules in place (which some folk mistakenly attribute to the Taylor Report, which never applied to Scotland) demanded an all seater 10,000 ground. Daft, but that was well known to all clubs.

Falkirk also never put their application to use the ground at Airdrie before the cut off date. They sold Brockville to Morrisons' supermarket in the hope that they would get entry to the top league. These are the facts (apart from the death trap part, which is an opinion).

Now, the football authorities can ignore their own rules, as we have seen in the case of Sevco, and I'm sure we will see again shortly. This season I'll guess.

Motherwell, with that great big stand for away fans, have appeared to be a favoured club of the authorities in the past. Maybe our best hope for this season (for being part of a top league in 2016-17), is for them to finish below us, and nuRangers, maybe soon to be Third Rangers, to finish below the top of their league.

But to return to the spirit of Tek's post, things look grim with the present group of players, especially as I recall players we let go for nothing like Fojut, Rado, and Butcher who were involved in some of our better performances last season. We've handicapped ourselves, also by letting Muirhead go out on loan.

Madness. It's madness.

See yer bit where  you mention standing up to rangers. He was wanting them to remain in the top league until he sat down with fed and trust where he was told fans wouldn't re-new season tickets.

He still stood up to them in the long run.

Every club in the SPL deep down wanted Rangers/The Rangers/Sevco to remain in the top league.

United miss out on 200k every season they are out of the top league, that will be 800k now, that is why Thompson wanted them in the league.

Saying that he did the correct thing by doing what the fans wanted, pity he turned around and said 'fuck you' in February when he had the chance to.
