Souttar, Spittal & telfer need to be taken out of the team. For their own good aswell as ours.
The three of them are fine players to have when things are going well but none have the desire, bottle or dig about them that we need right now.
Souttar pulling out of tackles and headers makes him an easy target. He's obviously leaving and will no doubt be angling for a Jan move and will not be keen on scuppering his move.
Spittal is lacking confidence. Needs taken out of the firing line. He's finding himself under intense pressure to be the one to supply the ammo for McKay but is regularly missing chances or making the wrong final pass. The reverse ball to rankin instead of square ball to mckay being case in point. Theres been several of these. Give him his due, he'll stick is foot in and took a clatter on Sat.
Telfer, one or two good games the whole time he's been here. Is far too easy to shrug off the ball. Tries to be too cute with his passing. lost count how many times he tries a wee round-the-corner pass that ends up at the feet of opposition player.
What we need are boys like Rankin, McGowan, McKay. The three of them give their all every week.

Totally agree AA.
Bewildered as to how Rankin was dropped on Saturday, but Souttar and Durnan are continually played despite offering very little this season (putting it nicely).

Thought Gowser was going to lamp Durnan. Went bonkers at him.
Erskine has to start on Sat for me. Done more in 20 mins than spittal and telfer did, coombined.
Demel and Rankin in the middle.

Whether Rankin deserved to be dropped or not is open to debate. However IMO Rankin is a very poor player. He is only any good when the opposition have the ball. His passing is poor, he has no composure and as we saw on Saturday he is a poor finisher.

Here here. I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this.

Can any of you honestly say Souttar was better than Rankin (when he came on) on Sat?

We don't need boys that give there all every week, we need better players.
I'd give my all, but it wouldn't get us very far.

Whether he was or was not does not change my opinion on Rankin. I could also have added poor in the air and weak in the tackle to the charge sheet.

You are right, I dont rate him either but he was head & shoulders above Souttar when he came on. You can only pish with the cock you've got and if its between Rankin and Souttar for Sat, I'm going for Rankin.

Souttar is pish and uninterested.
Rankin may be pish but he's at least interested.
Ken what ane I'd rather be in the trenches we.

It's a tough call for Mixu.
Against Hamilton souttar set up the goal with some good play, put a few good challenges in and generally seemed up for it, especially judging by his celebration.
Even when he is playing shite, he has that in his locker.
Rankin will knock his pan in but can't pass or shoot and is also lightweight in the tackle.
I guess Mixu is going with the law of averages that souttar is more likely to do something that will lead to a goal, something we are lacking.
It makes even more sense when you put him next to experience like Demel.
This could bring souttar on.
Unfortunately it didn't work out like that this week.
Mixus big mistake was not changing it at half time. Something he has done a few times that has concerned me.
