Well he got 2 and folk were happy because he deserved a testimonial. Didn't realise he'd been playing for the last nine years for fuck all

Think the last time he found another United player with a pass was 2013

Most on here at the time were pretty bemused with it being a 2 year extension tbh.

I hate being critical of the guy because he's served the club well. But he should not be considered a first pick anymore. That he is (and for every position along the back 4  to boot) shows our real lack of strength in defence.Been the same way now since post 2010 Cup win.

5 years of sub-standard defending (collectively).

I really like Dillon. He's a great lad and he's been a good servant. Fuck me though. He's finished and was finished when he got the deal.

He's finished at this level,yes.

Would still probably do a job for a Raith Rovers type team in the Championship. And there's no shame in that at all.

Christ even Redford and Narey ended up there at the end of their career (and still added a Cup win to their CV).

The natural order should have been that Sean should have went to a team such as that or back to a team in Ireland to see out a respectable career.Instead we have him seeing out his days in a Utd shirt and by the week tarnishing his reputation, that was by and large from 2007-2013/14 a highly respected one.

Sad really IMO.

It is sad. I don't think there is one United fans who doesn't love Dillon. Should have never been given a deal

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Saw the highlights and wtf was he doing at the first goal?? Even more annoying was his reaction--going nuts as if it were someone else's fault!! The ball came right across him--unless he's had a shout from the keeper or Durnan that was his ball. Give Donaldson a run out--can't be any worse.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

I watched most of the first half earlier.  We played some decent stuff but it is the final ball letting us down (Blair Spittal continuing to drive me mad on this, does good things but too much breaks down off him).  Crosses in from the left hand side were routinely being left to each other by Dillon, Durnan and the goalkeeper.  We lost the goal from it and should have lost at least 2 more.  All three need punted asap.  We look like there is a pattern of play though and clear signs of tactical awareness starting.  We need a big striker up there with McKay though.  A winger would help as well.

Next 2 weeks are the biggest games of the season so far.  6 pointers.

Too much commotion

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

not only are they must wins LAO but we need motherwell to get beat in these games aswell. We are now depending on them loosing. Beating Partick next week and Motherwell loosing at home to Dundee is a MUST for us next weekend. That puts us 3 points behind them going into the ICT game Motherwell are away to Celtic the same day. So this is a huge chance in the next 2 weeks to make up ground on motherwell.
Above Motherwell Killie Partick ICT are all on 17 points with Killie playing ICT next sat.

We have not moved an inch to climb this massive mountain we are at the bottom of.

Spittal should have had a stonewall pen

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

The goal was 100% the keepers fault. A cross into the six yard box without any height or pace will be dealt with by any competent keeper.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

You could also say good defenders clear it as well......soft as fuck and until the keeper Durnan Dillon Spittal are dropped we are not climbing the table

Plumber I'm not trying to make a case for the defenders but its far easier for the keeper to come out and take a cross than it is for a defender to cut out a cross running towards the goal.
I'll give you Durnan and Dillon as hopeless cases However I still think Spittal may be useful if he was surrounded by more experienced/talented players.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

I think the keeper was a fault too. Good of our 2 centre halves though to give the all time SPL goal scorer a free shot at goal though.

We won't climb the league until thon keeper, Durnam and Dillon are all dropped

Yup.

Morris will hopefully replace one of them but if we are going to carry on playing a back three we will either need to sign another centre half to replace the other one or, play McGowan there and sign another right back.  Personally, I'd sign another centre half since I think McGowan has done well as a right wing back and is well suited to that role.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

So I'm bored as fuck, so I thought I'll put the game on from the weekend, however I've had to put it off as even know i wasn't at the game Blair spittal just enrages me, he got the ball a total of 6 times in the first 12  minutes and under hit ever pass, one leading to the goal! If erskine is fit I would 10000% play him over spittal

Morris is ok but he's a crock. McGowan isn't a centre half.

Then again neither are Durnam or Dillon

Aye, because the other ten players were outstanding in the early part of the game. We were against a gale in the first half, and eventually seemed to adapt and take charge of the match.

As I recall, as the second half began, the wind was changing direction for the worst, and Kilmarnock had the advantage of it again. Is that right, or am I imagining it?
