No good enough really, another disappointing result.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Sounds careless (again) but seems ref did them a favour too?

A win next week and the signs are there.  We'll get out if this.

FWIW I'd have taken a point before the game.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

would have taken a point aswell but you got to think these missed chances week in week out are fucking us BIG TIME.

out our last 3 games 2 of which we are 1 up and in control to through the game away and get 0 points and then play most of the game today against 10 men have several missed chances again. We need to be ending this shite pretty sharp.
Ifs and buts but we really should have had 9 points out the 3 instead of 1.

Given we had an extra man for more than an hour it's a pish result

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

It's never that easy to take advantage of the extra man but when you've got the best part of 65 minutes you have to expect better.

I'm not having a go at the more positive posters on here but it's not true that there's plenty of time.  Results have to come NOW.  This Christmas period will be over in a flash and we are already in a massive hole.

It's not good enough.  And mixu shouldn't waste another minute talking about the three bastards in the paper either. Aye we know, you were left a bit curly sh1t, but you knew that when you took over.

Sort it.

I don't know that you can say that. Would have taken a point at 3pm gt though

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Sort of similar tale to the last two games, in that we stopped performing after a very good period of play.... St J, stopped after 35-40, Accies, poor after 65, but today, poor after about 50 minutes, plus we were shite for the early section, when we could well have been three down.

The defence is terrible, emphasised by Durnan being our best in that area today. He was steady, and at times carried the ball out from defence without looking like he didn't have a clue.

Sitters missed are going to cost us.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Was not there today, but lack of any quality width likely did for us today.  When teams go down to 10 these days, tactically it makes no difference to them defensively.  In circumstances like that, the key, in my humble opinion is to have at least 1 attacking player comfortable out on the wings, as teams with 10 players simply sit in defending on an extended line between the edges of the two penalty areas, narrowing the pitch.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Yip its basic football knowledge that when you play against 10men you stretch the game as much as possible using the entire pitch.

Feels like a defeat

We have no wide players. That is a problem.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

Said last week we had to show some balls, Mixu failed there today, didn't have the balls to make an attacking change and force 3 points out of the game.  Should have switched one of the centre halfs for Telfer/ Connolly/ Erskine at h/t or at least with 30 to go.

Defensively we're still terrible and Gunning is proving he's an even bigger prick this time round.

Roll on the new keeper next week as well, badly needed.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

As disappointing as it is not to win against ten men, it was so important we didn't lose today.

Mixu could have stretched the game and gone for 3 points, but that would also have left the extremely dodgy defence vulnerable. Another defeat and it becomes even tougher to change the mindset and turn things around.

It was away from home. Regardless of the circumstances, a point on the road is good for United right now. It gives him something, however small, to build on next week.

3 points would have been great. But avoiding another defeat is worth a hell of a lot right now. I'm content with having that going into next week.

Re: Kilmarnock V's Dundee United - 5/12/15 3PM

When you get an opportunity like that handed to you, you have to be brave enough to at least try and take it. If we'd drawn after trying to force the game fair enough, but not being brave enough to take that chance is worrying.

No need for that crap, don't think the boy will ever be premier league material, but he's been given a chance and is trying his best.

Indeed.

I don't particulary rate him,but i am willing the lad to do well and it comes across in his interviews that he certainly wants to succeed at Tannadice.

Doesn't strike me as someone who's just here to pick up a wage.

He, as expected, didn't seem to communicate well with defenders. Didn't play any poor goal kicks though, and his distribution was good. Poor at the first goal, but Dillon, especially, was not helpful to him.

What I didn't like, after the goal we lost in the fourth minute, Dillon turned his back on him and walked out of the penalty box: not one of the players tried to talk the lad up.

He's not ready for the first team, but it's not his fault he's there. He made a couple of good enough stops, but they were bread and butter saves.

All, again, in my view.

Edit: he could have lost another couple of goals similar to the first in the early stages of the match, due to the poor defence, and his lack of presence.

Dillon turned his back on him and walked out of the box. Some captain. Kawashima might give him a few bollockings. He does to his Japanese teammates anyway.

That is exactly what we need.

But also, conversely, someone who goes up and hugs/slaps on the back a team mate who makes a great save/last ditch tackle etc.

There is no leaders/characters in the team and that needs rectified pronto. The body language is fucking shocking at times.
