Squiddy back this weekend...

Asked him over on twitter, said he should be available this weekend.
Huge bonus IMO. Could really use him!

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Could do with Dow fighting for a place in someone else's team.

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Be good to get Erskine back but will he be able to last a full game anytime soon?

Maybe now he's (hopefully) over his Osteo-Pubis that might help?

Doing a bit of research about it awhile back and it is supposedly a very sore condition.

A pain free Chris Erskine might be a very handy player to add to our team/squad.

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

I never used to rate him.  Tidy player for 60 minutes and that was it.  It's interesting how when you're sh1te players like Erskine are all of a sudden vital to get back!

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

He's ok. Decent finisher and he can pass a ball. Might chip in with a couple of goals.

Erskine is better than Spittal

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

A month of Mixus training regime might produce interesting results for Erskine.

Too much commotion

He's also 9 years older.

Blair's a good player,he just needs time to develop and fill out.

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

For all the spittal hate, most of our chances seem to involve him in some capacity.
He had a hand in the goal against st j and also had a good effort in the 2nd half.
From the Hamilton game his involvement was:

Spittal to McKay, resulting in shot off target.
McKay to Spittal, resulting in shot on target.
Spittal to McKay, resulting in shot off target.
McKay to McGowan (when Spittal was clear and unmarked in the middle), resulting in shot off target.
Spittal to Rankin, resulting in shot on target.
Spittal to McKay, resulting in shot off target.
Spittal to McKay, resulting in shot on target.

He's not the finished article but he's not shite.
I would say McKay was much more disappointing on Saturday. If he took his chances we would have won comfortably.

Yeh he may develop into a good player but right here right now he doesn't contribute near enough and the opposition pretty much push him about.

Nail hit fairly and squarely on head.  A boy who is not out of his teens until later this month and being expected to be the finished article and a man in our side.  Wise the fuck up.  We love a scapegoat down Tannadice away eh?  Ryan Gauld has been with Sporting Lisbon for almost a year and a half having gone for the price he did.  Has he even played double figures for their first team?  The link ups in the last two games between Telfer (who seems along with Billy McKay to be immune from criticism) and Spittal has showed great promise in my eyes.  With experience around them, the likes of Fraser, Telfer and Spittal will hopefully flourish, but expecting them to all play in the one team and dig us out of the mess we were left in squad wise and berate them for not being able to is just so wrong on so many levels.  How many of you who are criticising would let them fit you a new kitchen if they were apprentice joiners; or a new bathroom if they were apprentice plumbers in your house, as that's pretty much the same thing!

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Oh and any kind of half decent defending in the last two games; and we would have walked away with 6 points and none of these negative post mortem posts would be taking place.  This is the same Chris Erskine that I defended after debut when he too was written off after his first 60 mins and who I staunchly defended on Mad that night before he was banished on loan?  And the same Chris Erskine who has never lasted anywhere near 90 mins?  I hope this condition has been sorted as with everyone available, we will get out of this mess!

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Got to agree with Foo Kin Twat here: shocking the way some fans hound certain young players.

As I used to say on Mad, these critics must have been fantastic players themselves.

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Would have Spittal over Erskine all day long, he's already better than him and still getting better.  Some folk watch us with their eyes closed to certain players.

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Have to agree , the abuse the laddie gets is friggin shocking .some boys in the ET lower boo him just for the sake of it ,our captain deserves a lot more stick than some youngster playing in a very poor side but for some reason Dillon gets an easy ride i.e poor header out and poor attempt to clear the ball for hamiltons 2nd goal but maybe he is playing out off position ?🎣

Re: Squiddy back this weekend...

Always find it slightly amusing when people have a go at supporters for booing a player then pick another player who they should boo instead.

How about not booing anyone?

The performance on Saturday didn't exactly set the heather on fire but they were far and away the better side. If they create as many clear cut chances as that in every game they'll finish top 6!

I've said it before that for a section of our support a win means we were brilliant and a defeat means we were fucking shite.
