Szromnik
McGowan Morris Souttar Gunning Dixon
Demel Rankin
Spittal Fraser

But we haven't enough choices, in my view. Things might not change very much until we have better quality, width, speed and experience in the squad.

I like the look of that but I don't think Morris has even started training yet so we could be looking at Durnan or Dillon playing at the back for a few weeks more. Not too fussed about Dillon but Durnan looks poor tbh.  He's not bad on the deck stepping out from the back but he let MacLean bully him in the air for about an hour on Saturday.

I also thought Telfer looked good 1st half last Saturday and probably deserves another start ahead of Fraser who did nothing when he came on.

I'd go fur this.  Telfer is a weak link to bully through the middle but with Demel and Rankin close by and Dillon and Gunning behind I rekon with the right organisation it's a decent formation.

Szromnik
        Dillon.        Souttar.       Gunning
McGowan.  Demel.       Rankin.      Dixon
                    Spittal.       Fraser
                            McKay

Subs Zwick, Telfer, Connolly, Murray, Morris, Coote, Spark

None of the other striking options are good enough to start and we could really do with the GK position being sorted out before Sat, still having to rely on defenders for width, not ideal but it's the best we have for now.

The only change will be Demel coming in and probably Rankin dropping out IMO

Rankin?

Been one of our better players this season (not saying much admittedly).

I am going with this because it's a like for like change and Demel being better than Ranks, I see us playing the same system as last week,....I will probably be wrong lol

Demel's a right sided player...Ranks is left side.

My money would be on Souttar or Spittal dropping out the team.

No way Rankin should be left out. Leave him in and drop Souttar for Demel. Leave the rest as last week.

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

First time in a long time I'm confident of a win here, assuming keeper still doesn't get clearance I'd go with:

.............................Szromnik.........................
McGowan.....Dillon....Gunning.....Dixon
Connolly.......Demel......Telfer......Rankin
......................Pongolle....McKay..................

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

Why is Demel suddenly a midfielder? Played in defence for West Ham

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

He says Mixu wants to play him in midfield. He played in midfield in his two clubs in Germany where he played for most of his career.

I want to see him smash that Darien McKinnon tomorrow.

Too much commotion

Pongolle in for Fraser with Spittal behind him and McKay, it's slowly getting better.

I think szromik has been very good considering how bad his United Career started

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

I think Demel will play in midfield.

Questions......does Mixu stick with last Saturday's formation or revert to a back four if he thinks Demel gives the back four better cover.

Who drops out of midfield....Souttar or Rankin I guess?

If he goes back four is it curtains for Durnan?

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

I'd go with the wing backs as that's the most width we've had since last Year

Re: Dundee Utd v Hamilton - Saturday 28th November (3pm)

Yip, wing backs for me. The improvement was as clear as day.
