Re: Eiji Kawashima

It looks Brill. Great work by the way!! Would like to see DUFC in it somewhere, but I am aware that could spoil it. A "white border down the left hand side with DUFC in black extending down vertically? Just a thought.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

For what it's worth, this is Dundee United in Japanese. (Dunno if the font will show up on some PCs)

Wonder if it would be possible to get that Japanese text on a flag JA. That would be smart.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

I'm just messing about, but anyone serious about making a flag might look into this company: http://www.footballflags.co.uk/

As an example, an 8ft by 5ft flag is just over £100 from them.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

That's a beauty Pat.

Would be a nice touch to Welcome our new Cult Hero if he saw that behind the East Stand on his debut.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Brilliant flag !! Although kanji is written vertically ??? ( I'm no expert)
Get it up instead of that damn tangerinish union flag - what's that all about ?? Can we request the club take it down? Who's idea is it and what is supposed to be saying (bearing in mind Dundee had the largest rejection of The Union in the independence vote)

I think this one was made by them:

You are right, it's digitally printed, but the guys who got it made for the most recent Wembley Scotland game said the advantage was it is very light to carry, and you can have any amount of colour and detail on it.

I'm a closet Stenhousemuir fan, by the way. It was twenty years ago yesterday that they beat us in the Challenge Cup Final.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Yeah i sure i seen that in Dortmund last year.

They are very kightweight from there mate barmyflags are alot heavier but seen properly much better imo. Dearer also.. they wanted £1350 to make that KEEP THE FAITH banner.. we nade it for £140

Remember it well, I'll never be a Stenny fan, but still love Bannon.

Kanji can be written vertically or horizontally. That isn't kanji though, it's katakana. Katakana is used for "foreign" words. The Japanese use three alphabets---katakana(foreign words), hiragana and kanji for others. Braw fun learning them!!!

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Bowers, pretty sure training would constitute working on his part - as such, not allowed.

Not to say he could run round camperdown etc to keep fit mind you...

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Eiji Kawashima

He is training just not with the rest of the team

Re: Eiji Kawashima

We just can't sign anyone

it always takes fucking ages

we are shite on that front

you watch the SKy Sports transfer window pish thing -12 midnight curtain -the back of 10 players get a shout and are signed in less than an hour

We have been waiting about 2 weeks on this boy and he's still not signed.

Oh, what came of the things we once believed?

Re: Eiji Kawashima

Was reported in The Japan Times the other day that everything between the player and club is done and dusted---just waiting on the permit. Not much United can do about that. Just have to be patient. Been in the same position waiting and didn't take anywhere like two weeks!

Incidentally JA. How does that translate if you dont mind me asking. Are they individual Japanese letters representing D u n d e e, and then the Japanese word for United ( I presume there is such a word in Japanese).

Not that much of an expert in all things Oriental.

Its individual letters for both words. Spoken aloud it sounds like "Dandeh-ee Yoonaitedoh"
ダ=da ン=n デ=de ィー=ee    ユ=yu ナ=na イ=ee テ=te ッ=makes the te longer ド=doh
