Sad state of affairs, was hoping he'd be back after JM left. Makes you wonder WTF has gone on.
Utd would've been expecting this I'd imagine. Don't pretend to know what's went on at all, but I'd be very very surprised if Utd don't have something on him to counter his case. You don't get suspended on the back of rumours and hearsay.
Really liked Campbell, was fantastic for the club. Pity it couldn't be resolved without all the shite that goes with a court case.
Posted this on the board moan thread prior to this one opening....
It's the first time I've seen the Public Interest Disclosure Act being used in connection with a football club so I googled and this stood out.....
"the disclosure must be one which the whistleblower "reasonably believes" shows a criminal offence, a failure to comply with legal obligations, a miscarriage of justice, danger to the health and safety of employees, damage to the environment, or the hiding of information which would show any of the above actions."
Potentially very serious stuff and, if allowed by the tribunal, the burden of proof will reside with the club and not with the employee....in other words United would need to demonstrate his (effective) dismissal was not as a result of whistleblowing...
And to add....it may be we'll never know what has gone on as settlements are often reached prior to an employment tribunal sitting or concluding.

Said it from day one , for the club to take the action they have means they have something as you don't do that if you have nothing, in saying that it won't go to tribunal Steve has a job opportunity by the looks of it and it will be done and dusted behind closed doors

It means they think or thought they had something on him imo. Not sure that'll materialize. Still think one of them 3 cunts hand some part to play in this.

You do not suspend anyone if you think you have something on them, even we are not that stupid

You can get suspended on hearsay. If someone makes an accusation against you then your employer can suspend you. It's all to do with employment laws.

You don't need to have anything. If serious accusations are made then employer has duty to remove accused from workplace.

The youth side off the club needs to move on . Let Mixu get his own man in place and start again. I dont think supporters need to treat this a disaster for youth development. SC had no role in player development until they hit 16 by then the bulk of a players technique is already in place. Im not suggesting that SC did not do a good job However the work done between 8-16 is the vital time.

One or more of jm, jackson, Donnelly had a part to play in this imo.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's again a matter of the chairman placing too much trust in them.

Maybe should have said " you shouldn't get suspended on hearsay"

I know that mate , but if accusations are made against you , then investigations are made before you have reason to suspend, I'm not in one camp or the other here but something ain't right here

Spot on T&B. The process can normally be long and held up for shitloads of reasons. Lad at my work was suspended for 6 months after a serious accusation. Kept his job in the end having been on full pay between.
We really need real facts on this before commenting on the whole matter. Some know and can't tell but seem to back him, others are diving in head first with fuckall knowledge.
Worry now that he'll end up back at dens.

Sometimes suspensions are put in place to allow investigations to take place, not uncommon at all actually.
It's always been the case he wasn't coming back anyway, since the day he was "suspended".
Don't agree with what's happened, but the club need to move on quickly.
Don't think it should be a Mixu appointment either, should be a long term replacement, not someone tied to a specific management team. Shouldn't be John Potter tho.

Everyones replaceable IMO. That includes coaches.
I dont think its a co-incidence that Gordon Youngs at the club as Mixus assistant. His CV is built on youth. Could be a good fit. Dual role with assistant manager, kills 2 birds with 1 stone etc.
Not sure whats happened to stevie, sure it will all come out.
Definitely more to it than what we all know. No need for the mass freak out though.

Campbell's lawyer apparently advised him to quit as he wants his hearing heard in an open public tribunal rather than a closed doors internal one.
His lawyer John Muir has said the tribunal will relate to his unfair dismissal and "whistleblowing" under the Public Interest Disclosure Act.

Great, nothing to wrory about then. No way club is going to come off looking good here. He's clearly got some sh1t to fling.
See when people were posting rumours and saying what a state the club was in...

I'm not sure if the "whistleblowing" relates to Campbell drawing things to Utd's attention about the previous coaching staff or the previous coaching staff (via youth players) drawing things to the clubs attention about Stevie Campbell.
All seems very murky at the moment and I suspect there will be claim and counter claim in the process. It will doubtless get messy.
All very regrettable.

Gutted to hear stevie has left . He will end up at septic or the fun
