I am thinking of resigning bowers, depending on the severance package.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

Projected Points
Following defeat to the green mould, our projected points for the Season is 16

Incidentally, did a wee bit checking into the stats for lowest points finish in the Scottish Premiership. It was Livi in 2005/06 Season who finished with 18 points.
(ok that was the SPL)

OK all is not lost.

If we beat County our projected points is 23.5
If we draw we County our projected points is 17.5
If we get beat fae County our projected points is 15

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

I'm not sure of the relevance of projected points.
A few wins renders this all redundant.
Does anyone believe we will finish the season on 16points.

Under McNamara I could see the point in highlighting this as the sample size was significant.
Under Mixu, keeping it going seems to maintain the air of negativity.

EHA have you seen the performances that the team have been putting in?

Yes. Awful.
Do you honestly believe we will finish this season with 16 points?

There is a relevance, McNamara has gone, the same players are still here and it appears that they have not thought about the likely outcome of their ongoing form.

Maybe they should be more aware of where the lack of victories, or even lack of draws, is leading us.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

But the players don't read this.
Im sure they are well aware what happens if they keep losing.
I imagine a few of them won't finish the season as Dundee United players.
Like I say, this was useful for showing the performance of the previous incumbent.
i think this is just revelling in disappointment now.

We won't finish on 16points. We know this is a bad period. We have a new manager in place that will bring in new players. Focussing on the form that got us here is counterproductive.
All in my opinion.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

Put money on it?
We will get more than that.
We will get in more players, get rid of wasters.
Get more points after the split.
Will it be pretty - no.
Will we get 20points or less - fuck no.

That's how I think this thread is just wallowing in self pity now.

Ken what you're saying m8. You're right to a point. Each and every result will change it, and no, I don't personally think we'll finish with just 16 points. Just a bit of stats and nothing else. Know it might look negative ATM. Dont know if Tek can amend the thread title to make it less so (it was Tek that started the thread ! ). BTW, every point we get from now on will have positivity.

I did clear this with Tek tho before it started, and if at any point he doesna want it to continue, then he can let me know.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

The thread is staying btw.

If anyone doesn't like the thread just give it a miss...simple solution.

As Bill pointed out it could also be turned into a positive thread IF we start winning.

Personally given that we were relegated with 36 points i find it an interesting thread to gauge just where we are and how many wins/points we will need to pick up from here on in.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

It's not a gauge though.
That was my point.
Didn't want it removed either.
It's just not accurate. If it was we would add in probability.
What is the likelihood we will remain in this EXACT form?
If we don't add that in all it is, is a thread pointing out we are currently playing shite.
Worthwhile when it was a means to an end, not so much now though.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

It is a gauge.

We currently have 5 points.

You normally require 40 points to avoid automatic relegation.

So we are 35 points away from safety.

There are 78 points left to play for.

Upshot is we need to start winning as we need to collect almost half of those points minimum.

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

It's not an accurate gauge.
There are too many variables not accounted for.
My previous statements have proven that.

If it is accurate, I'll happily bet you a sum of your choosing that we will earn more than 16 points.

Ll your other points, while factually correct have nothing to do with any of the previous statements. Ever thought of getting into politics?

Maybe just gee the thread a swerve if it bothers ye that much beh christ.

Taking it FAR too seriously.

P.S. i'm not interested in your bet.I never at any point said we wouldn't get more than 16 points (no-one did infact).

Re: Mr Hainey's - Projected Points Thread

I'm not that bothered by it nor thanking it FAR too seriously.
I was just making a counterpoint. The fact I disagree with the OP shouldn't mean I have to avoid the post, unless I have completely misunderstood the function of a message board?

post 54 is where it is said we would get 16points. The bet was just a mode of getting people to admit it was unrealistic. This has been my point all along.

I'd appreciate you not clouding it with random claims of taking it too seriously, wanting it removed or telling me to avoid it altogether though. Cheers

I've come to the conclusion that you are at the wind up: post 54 does not say 'we would get 16 points' at all.

That post continues the theme of projection, in fact Billy_Hainey even emboldens that theme.

Listen EHA i like you as a poster so i'm no wanting to get intae some massive tiff about what is nothing more than a stats thread.

Like any message board there will be posts and threads you like, and others you don't.

You obviously don't like the thread or see the point in it.Though others quite like it (and as it will continue) hence why i suggested you swerve it.

For instance there is sometimes threads on here about Wrestling or Star Wars etc and it's not my cup of tea so i simply give it a miss.
