Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

A slightly 'terrifying' situation could arise whereby Michael Gardyne and Brian Graham could put the sword in further and we could find ourselves 8 points adrift at the bottom of the table come Saturday tea-time....before we're even out of October

Do we go all guns blazing or turn it into a battle and try and nick a 1-0?

Very hard to pick a team with any degree of confidence these days but i would go.

........................Zwick.....................
McGowan...Dillon..Durnan....Donaldson
Spittal....Fraser........Rankin......Connolly
....................McKay.......Murray................

Subs -
Szromnik
Souttar
Telfer
Robson
Taggart
Khul
Bodul

*Murray deserves a start. His pace alone gives defenders something to think about,as does Donaldson who i didn't think looked too bad tbh. There's a player there that could come out under the right instruction and coaching.Put him at LB and see if he can do a job there*

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

At least we will be appropriately dressed in Halloween colours.  I reckon every one of us could pick a different team and come up with a reason why X, Y or Z should not play.  Assuming we've no new signings, I'd probably go with:

..............................Zwick (but needs to toughen up pronto)

Dillon...McGowan .... Donaldson (don't know why he was dropped)....Robson

Spittal......Fraser......Rankin......Dow

............McKay....Murray......

Defend from the front and press them back and keep them as far away from our goal as is humanly possible!!!

Where the Hell is Dow?Is he injured?

Haven't heard a peep about him since Mixu came in.

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

With Zwick in goal we are almost certainly a goal down before a goal is kicked he is nowhere near first team standard I'd get mcallum back from loan and play him until we can get another goalie in , at least he has league experience with Arbroath and livi. Let's face it can't be any worse his confidence is shot and needs rested for his own good .

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Zwick
McGowan Dillon Donaldson new left back
Dow rankin Fraser spittal
Murray McKay

Only playing Dow and spittal cause we have to cause there's no one else to play, I personally think there both gash! New left back is needed to get Dillon back into his best position, Murray has to play yeah not much ability but gives his all by closing down defenders and getting in there faces, McGowan is our best attacking option believe it or not when he is at right back, Fraser just makes the squad ahead of souttar

Certain we will see changes in the line up.
Not a clue what it will be.
Id bite your hand of for a draw right now.

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

We need to try and make it a turgid battle and try and sneak a goal somehow.  With this set of gutless players I doubt that will happen though.

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Dow out with a groin issue which from my mole in the hole, it is a possible long term injury maybe towards the end of the season if at all before he will be back in action!

Word too was the paint was almost aff the wall yesterday in the dressing room and the players were left with a new arsehole by Mixu

4-3-2-1/4-5-2/4-3-3 or something lol.
Counter attacking side.
Pack midfield
Pace out wide.
County are up there on merit so

Kuhl, Souttar & Durnan all out.

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Ken whit, I'd love to take part in the debate over who should play, but, although a positive person, presently I see nothing to convince that this group of players will be anything other than cut well adrift come January.

When Trap 6 informed us on the 'Scandinavians' thread:

Trap_6 wrote:

Isn't the rule that if a player becomes a free agent between windows he has to wait until the next window opens before he can sign for another team?

United can only currently sign out of contract players who have been free agents since before the last window closed.

my heart sunk.

This game saves our season, we lose this and It's goodnight.

The attitude just now from those arseholes just isnt there.

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Not going, got a work-related conference in Glasgow.  Relieved tbh. Feeling terrible taking the wee man for his first season as a season ticket holder and he's not seen us win since the Motherwell game last season in January before Kane and Abel were sold.

Too much commotion

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Saturday is now one of the biggest games in our recent history, another defeat then Aberdeen away would surely see us cut adrift by around 8 points leaving us with a mountain to climb with a truly pish squad......

Re: Utd v County - Halloween 3pm

Unbelievably,  like LAO, I canna make this game either, because of a big family wedding in Edinburgh. That is if I'm over this phuckin flu of course. First time I've missed a Home game in over 9 years. We'll find out this week if I'm the phuckin Jonah.

You still going to them?

I'll go to them if they ever have one outside the central belt

I think we'll win on Saturday. Scrappy victory.

I never went last year because we had a home game (against Ross County bizzarely enough).  I'm only going this year because its a good excuse to miss us playing.
Three years ago they had one in Stirling which was ideal.  Then it was back to Glasgow.  God forbid teachers from the West Coast have to travel anywhere.  I wonder if they do, do they morph into smelly Buckie swilling Zombies or Sellick fans as soon as they pass Cambuslang?

I'm hoping thon wifie who wrote the National 5 exam is there so I can explain to her the difference between Parliament and government. Oh and the fact the governments introduce bills and run the country.  The UK Government is currently attempting to pass a series of welfare reforms including a controversial plan to cut Working Tax Credits.  To also ask her your question as well: What's the point of an Added Value that adds no value?
