My missus was taken to hospital today with a clot in the lung. Has anyone here any experience or knowledge of this potentially life-threatening illness?

Leedsy really sorry to hear that mate.
I know quite a lot about it because my Mrs has a bit of a problem with her veins and blood clots is something she fears getting so we're both quite well researched as to the symptoms we need to look for in her.
Will be hoping for a good outcome here and hope she will come through this mate.

A member of my family had this recently. It was treated successfully with something called a 'thrombolytic drug' which dissolves the clot. Think they can also remove it with micro-surgery. Arabest.

A big thank you to all you well-wishers. She is now home and being treated with Warfarin (I refrained from comment) which she will have to take for the rest of her life, according to a specialist.

I'm glad she is back home Leedsy, all the best mate!

Great news!!
Know a few people who have been on Warfarin. Think my late Gran was on it for a few years also if memory serves correct.
Hope she's recovering well Leedsy.
