On a positive...

Who do you think will feature highly under mixu?

I'd say simon murray might get a lot of game time. Fast and seems to want to do well.... A bit of beef added and he could be a real asset.

Erskine - full of effort and a lot of skill but one who never seems to be able to last 90 minutes. I'd guess that's nothing else but fitness issues and mixu will sort that out.

Any more?

Beat me to it I think Spittle will really crack on this season, under the last manager he seemed to get fucked about and didn't seem to know what role he had, listening to Mixu he's going to make sure the players all know exactly what he wants from them which will hopefully make us stronger all round

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Erskine get's a lot of grief about his fitness (and i've gave it out to him myself). But in light of this chronic pain condition he's suffered from (Osteitis Pubis) i'm willing to cut him some major slack.

Let's see what kind of player we have on our hands when he returns after getting this operation. If he's finally pain free and big Mixu can get him super fit i think we have a player there.

He will do that under Mixu....by playing 1,2 or even 3 different positions going by this. Not week in week out,but playing (and learning) each position over a matter of months until it's finally clear which one is his strongest.Interesting philosophy.

Spittal will end up a Right Back IMO.Have thought he looked comfortable there since i saw him play his debut in a friendly at Easter Road.

Yep agree with that, think he is ideal for right-back.  Obviously needs to improve big time on his defensive side of things to play there though.

First I've heard of him having that condition. A quick Google search shows that it's very treatable - was he made to play through the pain?

Re: On a positive...

Erskine is the least of our worries. He's far from great but at least he offers something. We're missing him this season.

Get what you are saying but the question was who will get more game time and improve under mixu. Up until that point I hadn't known Erskine had been carrying a long term injury. He's a fine player but can't last 90 mins. Fitness was an issue, whether due to injury or lack of training however I think he has the desire to do well which is what mixu is looking for.

To add to that, I think fraser could come on leaps and bounds - has skill, there's no doubt but could have more dog about him - so look forward to him improving further.

On the flip side,  I think telfer is likely to be out on his ear unless a massive change of attitude comes about. I think Szromnik might fond it a difficult place to keep a job too.

Souttar will be a difficult one though. I think he's naturally lazy - but naturally lazy people can accomplish a lot with the right people behind them pushing them. Will mixu be the man? Tbh if he agrees a pre contract elsewhere, I think he would slow down in his last 6 months.... fingers crossed he is pushed and signs on.
