Its not a f uck up but hard to argue there is a fair amount of indecision going on. Pulled from another forum: "STV just said NO official announcement tomorrow, maybe not even Thursday."
Getting a bit silly if true.

Did he accept?

I'm actually liking the idea of mixu tbh and of I'm honest I would rather go for him than spend 150k on Hughes when it can be spend on players!

I would take him over Hughes or Wright tbh.

Spencey just tweeted he'll be announced tomorrow.
Refuse to meet compo for Hughes so no further talks.

People are going to complain about not paying the comp. But 150 - 200k for just as much a gamble as bringing in Mixu would be ludicrous.
We missed a trick here but f uck it, let's get on with it. He'll be miles better than what we had. Don't understand the lack of interest in mccall.

It appears eh was misinformed about Mccall being unveiled but maybe the whole "I dont want to sell players" part was true after all, and thus the reason ST didn't pursue him or shoe much more interest. Just a theory mind.

Confirmed on the official.
Dundee United today confirmed Hall of Famer Mixu Paatelainen as the Club’s new Head Coach. He signs until June 2018.
Mixu, who played for United 173 times, returns to Scottish football after four years as Finland national head coach. The ex-Kilmarnock, Hibs and Cowdenbeath Manager wore the United kit with distinction between 1987 and 1992 scoring 47 goals for the Terrors.
Stephen Thompson, Chairman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mixu back to the Club as our new Head Coach. He served United with distinction as a player and will do the same as a manager. His desire to come back to the Club was clear from the first minute we spoke. He was the first person we spoke to and also the last.
“His experience combined with his vision and enthusiasm for the Club made him the standout candidate and we are thrilled to announce his appointment.”

Don't care how he was appointed, the important thing is that we explored a number of avenues.
Good luck big man. Bring on the terts.

Right our season starts on Sunday, hopefully mixu can put a bit of dig in this United team and get them playing with confidence!
Mon the shed, let's get behind big mixu!

Do we normally go down the "head coach" route?
Can't say I've noticed before.

Don't think so bud.
Mixu is big on players learning each others related roles. I think he might be more involved in the coaching side and this title might be at his request.

Our season starts now, fresh start. Mixu will get our 100% backing.

I'm happy with this and right into a training session, let's kick off a new era and get behind the mighty Finn !!!

Somebody like Bollan would be a good fit, but could ya imagine how funny Kenny Sheills would be? Talks in riddles and is a complete fud
A pretty morbid thought this, but I would think that Mixu would be in charge when we lose JYM, fitting that it would be one of his own in charge and who would lead the club's tributes imo. Fuck knows how I thought o this.
Online!
wasnt my first choice but ill be behind him.

Honestly think this is the best of the names banded about with possibly the exception of Wright. And I'm really no that bothered about him anyway. Enjoy yir wee crowds Thomas, only one way that club will go.
Think Mixu is the man to sort us out. Experience, vision and enthusiasm for United. Sounds great.
Arabest Mixu and welcome back.
PS hope our support give him some time to sort out the mess Jackie has left.

I dont think he was manys first choice but he is appointed and will be backed 100% from the fans.
