Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

Predictions?

Think we'll draw 1-1.

Then we need to hope the Germans can see off the Irish and do us a favour.

I think Poland will win this game pretty comfortably.

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

Delighted Naismith is starting, other than that, holy shit fuck.

Fletcher, Forrest, Ritchie, Whittaker at LB....

I'm going for Polska-1, hope to lose my money but think they'll win comfortably.

I don't think Strachan rates Andy Robertson.

He was raving about him early doors too. Not sure if he's playing for Hull though.

I don't mind Whittaker at RB, personally prefer him to Hutton but can see why Hutton is picked for big games, total cunt who knows how to foul and win fouls.

Most people I speak to at Scotland games think Strachan has done a great job, I really don't, wins against Gib, Georgia and Ireland at home are below bare minimum IMO, win tonight and that quickly turns that's a great home record tbf.   Simply because there's no one else he should continue even if we lose tonight but he needs to drop some of this dross.

What a goal fae Richie.

Why not play him on the left though. Boy is so left footed, he's wasted on the right.

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

Typical Scotland.

If we had won against that shite in Georgia and held out for 15 more seconds tonight we would be qualifying automatically on Sunday, but instead we're out tonight.

Gutted.

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

Disappointing, yet again.

Many smaller nations get to the main tournaments these days. I wonder if the football journalists will turn their attentions on the SFA for this continuing failure?

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

We're shite. It's our own fault. No hard luck stories this time. We were leading twice v Poland and couldn't hold on for win. We also never beat Georgia away. We stopped playing v Ireland when we equalised.

Shite tactics. Shite defence. Shite manager.

Nope. Sevco up next season. It'll be business as usual. Think I may turn my back on the game

Thing is there were definitely aspects of this campaign that would indicate we are most definitely not shite.

in head to heads with ireland we win 2-1 on aggregate. We draw 4-4 with Poland.

The Germany games we are twice drawing and on top and end up losing both.Georgia game we wholly dominate and lose 1-0.

Concentration and killing teams off when we draw blood is our massive downfall.

We've scored some bloody great goals in this campaign (the 2 tonight ..wow),but we continue to let in with regularity...most goals totally avoidable.

Most dissapointed i've been since Italy game at Hampden in 2007.

It MUST be a belief thing i think.Because i genuinely believe we are as good as Poland and better than Ireland.

Gutted tbh.2015 has been an utter shitemare.

Scott Brown should be nowhere near international football.  For that alone you deserve not to be going through.

Was genuinely gutted when they scored.

Nail on head mate.

Is his record any better than Levein (who had NO luck at all AND turned the squad culture round AND whose "shag a sheep once 640 moment", which he almost pulled off by the way, not that I condoned it) whose record was berated?

Levein had us heading the right way.

Strachan doesn't

dinnae really agree with that but Strachan is equally as hopeless as Levein as a Scotland manager. He'll get an easier ride from press though because he managed Celtic.

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

IMO the main reason we didn't qualify is because we literally have zero defenders that are good enough. Zero. When we used to qualify for tournaments we always had decent defenders. We have zero. Folk will go on about Robertson, he's quality but at end of day, would he make the England squad? Nope. Would he make an England B team? Nope.

There isn't one player in the Scotland squad that would make the England squad.

Can't agree with that mate (and i'm a big fan of Levein).

We were the first nation in Europe to be out of the running for 2014 Qualification under Levein. That was unforgivable.

I could forgive the 460 Czech experiment but the 2 capitulations to Wales were the final straw for me.

That on the back of the 5-1 thrashing to the Yanks and the 2 drab draws at home to Sebia and Macedonia.

Nah he was correctly sacked IMO.

Not sure if Strachan is the answer but i'd be willing to give him one last campaign.

Re: Scotland v Poland - Thursday 8th October 7.45pm

The thing is players who should have been integrated into the team during this campaign particularly this year as we have got progressively worse were ingnored. Players like Russell, GMS, Armstrong, Griffiths, Ryan Jack are now well into their 20s yet have virtually no international experience whilst dross like Hutton continue to play every game despite being shite defensively and never creating anything going forward. These players will probably play most games next campaign but have been given no real opportunities so far.
