Re: John Hughes..

nothing wrong with us taking our time on this one, he should give him a proper vetting.  career win percentage around 40% as a manager but former center half, should know how to defend.

Not sure this is the right long term fit.

Re: John Hughes..

Think Hughes would do a good job for us, he had a bit of a shakey start at ICT but once he settled in he has done well and with a Scottish Cup under his arm he is a good shout. Certainly has players who love playing for him and would be another reason for McKay to possibliy sign a deal longer term with us.

They done that with Mixu and Tommy Wright a few days ago though.

They just react to a flurry of bets being put on someone.

Re: John Hughes..

I would take Hughes for the reason he wouldn't take any shite from any of our severely underperforming players

Re: John Hughes..

Hughes excites me more than Mixu and McCall. Hope it happens.

Re: John Hughes..

Been oot the loop for a week, disappointed to hear Wright is out of the picture but would be happy with Hughes.

My favs were Wright, Mixu and Hughes (with McKinnon as an unrealistic fav of mine) in that order, now thinking Hughes is a better shout than Mixu.

What I will say is that it's a proper kick in the nuts IF our first three options were Elvis, Wright and Hughes and all three knocked us back for Fleetwood, Saints and ICT.

"It's all credit to the chairman who came in with the name actually.hughes picked up his manager of the year, Europe and Scottish cup from a team built by butcher.if he does go we could try to get the new Liverpool manager jurgen klopp's brother........ I agree with the Caley Online poster, and will leave it at that.

Re: John Hughes..

Wright, Hughes etc....none of these guys are what we need. It's now obvious that one of the reasons ST put off sacking Jackie was the lack of replacements available. We are up the shit and I'm seriously worried.

I really do, and I think it will be him.  Unless as is likely, Sunderland go in for him.  Saw an article that they might just do that as well.

Wont bother arguing the toss with you about it. He is the right man for the job, has been for a couple of years in my opinion.

Double snap.

A lot of chatter that if Scotland lose tonight he'll be appointed tomorrow.

Only other thing I have any bother with is the way he gave up at Motherwell.

He was honest enough to admit that he was out of ideas.
His honest quality is also one of the reasons I like the guy.  If he was less in that quality I wouldn't even know the reason I first mentioned.

I thought it was a good honest move on his part but can see the other side.  Serious question because I dont know... how did Motherwell feel about the way he handled that? supporters included.
